Makeup Monday – Ciate caviar manicure

So I recently picked up a magazine (Marie Claire) that had the mini ciate caviar manicure as its freebie. There were lots of different sets; the one I picked up I believe was called party punch. This has a baby pink called kiss chase and the caviar pearls in ring a rose.

First of all the pink is gorgeous on its own so I was very happy just for that colour. The caviar pearls are a lot easier to apply than what I thought. However it can get messy, but I thought ahead and made sure I put a piece of kitchen paper down so that all the pearls that didn’t stick to my nails would stay on the kitchen paper. I also did it on kitchen paper as I thought it would be easier to get the pearls back into the bottle. This was trickier than what I thought but this is down to it being a mini version as with the full size sets you get a funnel which would have been a lot easier.

After applying the pearls and letting my manicure set I was surprised by how much I loved it. It reminded me of having hundreds and thousands on my nails. It’s a really cute and easy way to have funky nails. The down side is that through the day I lost a lot of the pearls mainly on my right hand as that’s the one I do so much with. I still wore it on the second day but that was down to the fact that I didn’t have time to take it off not that it looked good enough to still wear.

When I came to take the manicure off, it made me cringe as the pearls scratched on your nails as you removed them. You also needed quite a few cotton pads to remove the pearls. Personally I wouldn’t rush out to buy a full size set of these as I think there expensive to only last one day. But I will use this set up for when I want my nails glamming up for special occasions.

Have any of you managed to get more than a day wear out of these?
