I've been holding off doing a review on this product until I'd used it for a few months, so I could give you my true opinion of the liner rather than first impressions.
There is both pros and cons to this product. I have had a love/hate relationship with this liner for I would say the first month.
I have found that this liner is perfect to do flicks with due to the angled applicator. I get a perfect wing every time. This liner is long lasting and doesn't smudge when dry, it's actaully pretty difficult to get this liner off your eye without some good eye makeup remover. You need to have an oily based remover to get this off, no gentle eye makeup remover will remove this. For me this is not a bad point, it's defiantly a positive as it means it's long lasting and not likely to smudge down your face at the first sign of a bit of moisture. However if your prone to making mistakes this could be a bad point for you as removing a small mistake could prove difficult.
It's a bit hit and miss sometimes with how it glides on your eye. Most of the time it glides on beautifully smooth like gel should. However there is the odd occasion it does feel like it's dragging on the eye lid. I have found when it does do this (which like I said is only the odd occasion) that I have to twist it and swipe it on the back of my hand to warm it up and get rid of the rubbish bit of liner, it then glides smoothly again. This i don't like as it's a wasteful, and this ain't no cheap liner.
I have tired this liner on my eye with and without shadow or primer and have found that it was long lasting both times and went on the eye the same. However when I used this liner on a cream eyeshadow I found that it glided on even more smoothly and easily than normal. But and there is a a big but, it doesn't seem to set on a cream shadow and ends up smudging and not lasting long at all. So I wouldn't advise using to on cream shadows.
Benefit claims that one twist does both eyes, definitely not! I've found that I've had to twist for each eye, you could maybe get one twist out for both eyes if your not planning on doing a wing and only want a very thin line. But if your going to be doing that then you may as we'll buy a basic liner.
I do like the pen packaging and the fact that you obviously don't have to use a brush to apply it like normal gel liners. The way it's packaged means it's also easy to take this out with you and reapply if needed. The twist up section means that it's easy to get more product when needed. However I did struggle with this at first. I found that I would twist see nothing was coming up and then twist again, then all of a sudden too much product would come out. I was basically too impatient to wait the probably 20 seconds (if that) this takes to come out the liner.
All in all I do like this product and would repurchase it, it defiantly takes a while to get used to this liner and I think that because there is nothing else quite like it. The first month I hated it but I stuck with it and have found that I really do love it and prefer it over my other pen liners. The only thing I have left to find out about this liner now is how long the liner will last compared to my other liners.
It's defiantly a product worth trying if you love liners and haven't tried it yet. But definatley don't give up on this product too quickly as I'm sure it will become one of your favourites like it has mine.
Have you tried this liner? Did you have the same love/hate relationship too?
