I'm subscribed to both glossybox and birchbox and as I did a glossybox unboxing I thought it was on,y fair to do a birchbox unboxing too.
So here is my initial thoughts on the box and products I recieved from my December birchbox.
This box had a jewel design on it, it was designed by Sophia Webster.
Inside the box I recived 7 products, usually you only get 5 beauty products and if you do receive more than 5 it's usually lifestyle extras that aren't that amazing. However I'm guessing seens as it's December they have given 6 beauty products this time and only one which is a lifestyle extra which is actually quite impressive.
As you can see from the initial opening of my box one of my products had gone all over the inside of the drawstring bag (which didn't really bother me) and it had gone all over the other products which was annoying as I had to clean it all off.
1 - I will start with the product I knew I was going to get as I was able to pick which shade I wanted. Every now and then birchbox will send you an email asking which shade you would prefer in the 1 year and a couple of months I've been subscribed this has happened 3 times. For this occasion it was the models own nail polish (full size) should be priced at £5. I chose the colour sardonyx, which is red as I thought it would be nice for the festive season. It has sparkle to it and has a matt finish which is supposed to be velvety finish, this is why the bottle has a velvet lid. I'm excited to try this nail polish out, I think it will be my new christams red this year.
2 - elsor firming collagen day cream, priced at £50 for a full size. This cream is supposed to give your skin a plumping boots as it's ultra hydrating. I'm intrigued to try this, but I'm not a fan of the scent.
3 - Electric hair hydrate shampoo. For a full sized one it would set you back £17.50. This shampoo is designed to help repair damaged hair and improve shine. It smells lovely sad looks like quite a thick nourish shampoo. I'm looking forward to trying but when they give you the shampoo to try I do think the conditioner should come with it, so you can try them together. (But it should class as one item not two)
4 - eyeko fate eye stick in the colour smoke. This is a full sized sample that I recieved and it's priced at £8. This is the pesky product that has gone all over everything, so my thoughts on the packaging are not high at all. However I do like the look of the product, it looks like it could help you achieve a smokey eye in no time.
5- benefit highbeam, for a full size this would be £19.50. This and the nail polish was probably the only christams thing about the box, and that was only because it came packaged like a cracker. So cute! I already own this product so I know I like it. I'm not annoyed that I've already got this as a little sample size can come in handy for your handbag or when you need to travel light.
6- trilogy organic rosehip oil, for a full size this is £16.50. First if all I love the packaging for this, considering its only a sample you still get a little dropper bottle. This is supposed to be used when your skin is in need if so,e extra nourishment and care. This is a good seasonly placed product as our skin always needs extra nourishment in this weather and with the heating.
7 - last up is the lifestyle extra which is a purse, this is probably the first time I've really enjoyed the lifestyle extra. It's such a me purse with the leopard print on one side with the duck egg blue and black and white stripes on the other. I love this and can't wait to use it. It is more of a spring/summer kind of item I think just down to the colour but I'm not bothered by that. The price is what bothers me as if you wanted one of these they set you back £25. Which is ridiculous, I know its because it's been designed by Sophie Webster but for the size and what it is, it's very overpriced. But I do love it and will enjoy the fact that I've been able to get this in my box.
Overall I really like what I got in my box this month, and can't wait to try out the products. The only one I'm a little sceptical about is the day cream and that's just down to the scent.
Hope you enjoyed. Are you subscribed to the birchbox? If so what did you think to your box?
