Fitness update

In January I put a post up about my fitness and the goals I wanted to reach. I set a goal for my weight, fitness and diet. These were to loose just over half a stone before my holiday in April, exercise 5 days out of the week and tone up, stick to my calories and not go overly crazy on the naughty weekend days. I was planning on loosing the weight and toning up by using the running machine. In order to stick to it I used the run keeper app and did the couch to 5k  programme. I did really well with sticking to the plan until we went away. I didn't loose the amount of weight that I wanted, I lost 5 pounds which was only 2 pounds off the target I set. So I did do quite well with the weight loss but I wanted to shift those couple extra pounds as I knew in America I was going to be gaining quite a few.

After our holiday I had only put on 3 pounds which was good as I thought it was going to be all that I had originally lost. I kept up with watching what I ate in the week when we got back but I couldn't motivate my self to get back on the running machine. Throughout the time I stuck to the plan I found myself dreading the exercise as it took up a lot of time, drained me of all my energy and I didn't feel like my fitness was improving.

I decided I needed to try and find some kind of exercise that I enjoyed and fitted in with my lifestyle. I tried countless workout programmes I found online and then I turned to you tube. I found this amazing person called Lucy Wyndham-read. Her you tube channel is full of quick exercises that are HIIT workouts (high intensity interval training) these are quick, but you feel them working you.  She also has videos on healthy meals and tips to help you reach your goals.

In just 8 weeks I have managed to loose 2.5 inches on my waist and 1.5 in my hips, I've also lost the 3 pounds I gained in America so I'm back to only needing to loose 2 pounds to reach my goal. Here is a picture of me before and after 8 weeks of working out.

I've been doing these exercises every day but resting in Sunday. I  pick two workouts a week and alternate them. This stops me getting bored through the week as I'm not doing the same one everyday. I've found that I'm really enjoying doing these workouts. I've not skipped a workout even when I've felt tired as I know after I've done my workout I gets burst of energy. I've just generally being feeling really good about myself and would definitely recommend you checking her YouTube channel out.

Seeing the difference in the photos is what keeps me motivated, what keeps you motivated?
