You know how much I've been loving the Gwen Stefani eye palette. So I was really excited to find these samples inside the palette. There are 8 shades in total 2 of which are exclusive to urban decay these are phone call and Plaid. The sample came with four shades, the shades I got to sample are Gwens four must have shades, ex girlfriend, firebird, 714 and rocksteady. The other two shades that I didn’t get to try are wonderland and spiderweb.

 

Ex-Girlfriend is a sheer nude. I've not tried one of urban decays sheer lipsticks before. I really like the formulation of it. Its very glossy, it feels almost like the revlon lip butters. Its still quite long lasting considering its sheer but it doesn’t last anywhere near as long as the creams.

 

Firebird is a cream formulation, it’s a bright fuchsia. I already love the cream formulas from urban decay. They are extremely long wearing and feel really nice on the lips. This shade will be great for the summer its so bright but very wearable.

 

714 is a matte red. Its an improved version of there usual matte lipsticks which I've never tried before, they have labeled this as a mega matte. This took a while to apply with a lip brush but when applied it didn’t feel drying like I thought it would. It felt really light weight like I had nothing on my lips. Which I didn’t expect, I expected this to be very drying.

 

Rocksteady is a cream burgundy shade. I love how this feels on lips, like I said the cream formula is amazing! This wasn’t as dark as I was expecting, I was expecting a much deeper burgundy shade but this makes it a lot more wearable.

 

All the lipstick shades are also available in lip liners which is great, as so often its hard to find a liner that’s the same shade as your favourite lipstick.

 

I'm definitely going to buy a few of these lipsticks. I will be buying ex-girlfriend and rocksteady quite soon as I think I will get the most wear out of them. I'm also toying with purchasing the shade 714 as well as I really like the colour and formula but I don’t need it right now.
