7 Year anniversary

Yesterday was mine and Paul's anniversary, It's been 7 years since we first met each other. To celebrate we decided to go out for not one but two meals. We love food and we thought what better way to celebrate our anniversary, than to stuff our face silly with food.

The first place we went to was The Pier. We went for afternoon Tea, I've been for afternoon tea here before but Paul has never been. It's so much better than the first time I went. On the first tier you get a selection of finger sandwich's, these were salmon and cream cheese, ham and mayonnaise, cheese and pickle and egg mayonnaise. The second tier used to be just scones but now you get a more savoury selection of pastries, there was a mini sausage roll, salmon puff and what we thought was a cheese and onion slice. The third tier is where you get all your sweet treats. You get a scone, one plain and one fruit, with jam and cream to top your scone. Then there was three mini desserts, a Turkish delight, banana bread and a raspberry cheesecake with a ginger biscuit base. We really enjoyed this and felt thoroughly stuffed. Paul even said that this was one of this favourite afternoon teas he's had and I think that's because of the home made pastries and scones.
Later on in the evening we went to one of our all time favourite restaurants, Petit delight. We went there with two of our close friends, Matt and Kerry. This is a french bistro style restaurant and I love coming here for lunch and afternoon tea, but I'd never been for an evening meal here before. To start with I ordered scallops with chorizo and spring onion. This was absolutely amazing, and It was the perfect size to wet my appetite.
For the main I chose the Monkfish, I've been wanting to try more fish dishes and this one was great as it was more of a meaty fish. It came with kale, broccoli and roasted potatoes in a chili and garlic oil. I really enjoyed this, but there was a little too much chili for me. I ate all my fish but ended up leaving half the vegetables as my mouth was on fire and I just couldn't eat any more.

I did have a dessert, but I'm afraid I failed on the photo of the dessert. It was only after I had demolished it, that I realised that I hadn't took a photo. Anyway I ordered a warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. It did look amazing and it did taste even better, which is why I forgot the photo.

In case you wondered, I chose my outfit carefully to make sure that I was comfortable enough to stuff my face and still looked stylish enough to go to a restaurant. I opted for an over sized shirt from new look. This is baggy enough to hide any food baby, but still looks dressy because of it being a shirt. The khaki colour and cold shoulder detail on this shirt are also on trend for AW16. I wore my trouser leggings from River Island, these have gold zip details were the pockets should be and they are super comfortable. To dress this outfit up a bit more I chose my flat pointed lace up shoes from Asos. I bough these last year, but I hadn't really had the chance to wear them yet. I was happy to find an outfit to wear them with and I think they took my outfit from casual, to more of a smart casual look.

We really enjoyed our relaxing anniversary day. It's my kind of day when it just involves chilling and eating. Yesterday was great food, shared with great company and I don't regret the amount I ate one little bit!
