Blogmas Day 20 - Pamper Night

Finding the time to have a bit of a pamper sesh can be difficult, especially at Christmas time! We all have so much going on, work, presents to buy, family to see and of course the dreaded food shop. Fitting a pamper night in between all of those things is very difficult. But its still so important to take that time back for yourself. You may remember me saying that I was a little unwell earlier on in the month, which had left my skin looking dry and unhappy. I was waiting until I felt better to have a little pamper evening. I wanted to use some hydrating products that would hopefully make my skin happy again. I have lots of new products I wanted to try out too. I've had so many exciting products out of my beauty advent calender and this months beauty boxes, that have just been sat on the side waiting to be tried. (If you want to know what was in the months Glossybox and Birchbox, take a look here) A pamper evening seemed like the best time to try out a lot of these products together....

To start my pamper evening I cleansed my face first, using the new Naobay Equilbira that I got out of my Glossybox. This should cleanse skin, remove make-up and help to bring balance to your skin. This product is so sticky when you first squeeze it out of the tube. Its like thick honey. But once you warm it up in your hands, its like any other cleansing balm. After I'd massaged it all over my face and eyes, I splashed my face with water which turns the cleanser milky. My face felt really soft and looked really clean after using this cleanser. So far this product has a big thumbs up from me.

Then I went onto face masks. I used the Oskia Renaissance mask first because this is a exfoliating mask. It helps to transform dull lifeless skin, into smooth more youthful looking brighter skin. I got this from the look fantastic advent calender. I've heard a lot about it and rightly so, I loved this. Its a two part kind of product. You apply the mask and massage it in until the pink mask turns white, you then leave this on your skin for the desired time. Once that time is up, you apply some water and massage into skin again before rinsing the product off. My skin looked instantly brighter after using and I couldn't see any dry patches.

The second mask I didn't use until after my bath, as its a detoxifying one. I though it would be much better to use after my steamy bath had opened all the pores on my face. This is the Sand & Sky Brilliant skin mask, I got this sample size from my Birchbox. Again I'd heard and seen a lot about this product on social media, so I was very excited to try this out. With being ill and getting run down, I had quite a few spots on my face. This mask shrank them! I've never had a mask where you could instantly see it had done something to your pores. You could feel this tingling on your face and I guess whatever that tingling was, was helping shrink my spots and shrink the size of my pores. It does say on there website that you can just apply a small amount of this to your spots over a couple of days and it will dry them out and get rid of them. I've just discovered that Asos is now stocking this face mask and I'm 100% going to be buying some of this. My pores and spots looked so much better and my skin felt so soft and looked brighter.

It wouldn't be a pamper evening without a bath. So I used one of my Lush bath bombs that you saw in a recent haul. Its the Snow Angel bath melt, which is described as being a treat for the skin. As it deeply cleanses and soothes dry winter skin. I could see all the oil surrounding me in the bath, when I got out the bath I could feel it on my skin. But not in a 'eww' I feel so oily kind of way, it just left my skin feeling nicely hydrated. The smell of this bath melt is amazing as well, its a really subtle scent that easy to sit and relax in.

While I was in the bath I used a new body scrub that I got out of this month Birchbox. Its the Baija Gommage festin royal body scrub. Its a 97% natural exfoliator that gently buffs away dryness. This smelt quite nice in the pot, a very honey sweet smell. But when I used this in the bath it smelt so sickly, I only used a small amount as well and it just was too over powering. But it did its job and buffed away any dryness, which allowed my bath melt to hydrate my skin.

After my bath and the Sand & Sky face mask I followed my usual night time skincare routine

Have you discovered any new pamper products?
