Some people like to get dressed up on Christmas day, others go casual and some people don't even get out of their PJ's on Christmas day. I'm one of those that loves getting dressed up! I love putting on a pretty dress, curling my hair and spending a long time making sure my make-up looks perfect. Right from being a little girl my mum has always put me in a special dress for Christmas day and its the one day a year that I will continue to dress myself up.
I thought I would show you what I'm wearing on Christmas day and what I'm planning on using make-up wise. So I've got two possible outfit choices and I'd quite like your input on which one I should go for.
The first option is this navy velvet dress from Miss Selfridge. I'm planning on putting a gold belt around it and wearing my black ankle boots with gold buckles. I'll also be putting a black chunky cardigan on with this too, so it makes it a little bit more casual and keeps me warm.
The second option is this black shift dress from River Island, it has lace detailing and ruffle right across the chest. I would wear my black over the knee boots with this and I would probably throw on my chunky cardigan on again to keep me warm.
My make-up look will depend on which outfit I go for. I do want to do a red and gold look, but depending on which outfit will depend on whether I go more gold or more red. If I go for the navy dress I think I will go gold on the eye to match all the gold detailing and add a touch of red under the eye and into the crease like this picture below (which I found on Too Faced's Instagram).
If I go for the black dress I think I'll go for a lot more red and just a touch of gold on the inner corner, like this photo below. (I found this look from Charlotte Tilbury)
No matter which look I go with, I will be using the products below to create it....
Primer - Benefit Porefessional
Foundation - Urban Decay Naked Skin
Concealer - Maybelline Fit Me
Powder - Benefit Porefessional
Bronzer - Benefit Hoola
Blusher - Benefit Rockateur
Highlighter - Laura Geller French Vanilla
Brows - Benefit Kabrow
Eyeshadows - Jaclyn Hill X Morphe Palette
Liner - Kat Von D Trooper
Lash Primer - Benefit They're Real
Mascara - Too Faced Better Than Sex
And of course I need to have a red lip for Christmas day. I'll either be using Nars Golshan satin lip pencil, which I use last year or Urban Decay's F-bomb cream lipstick. I know both of these hold up well through meals and last on the lips, all while still being comfortable on the lips.
How do you dress on Christmas Day?
Well that's it for Blogmas, I hope you've enjoyed reading these posts throughout December. Merry Christmas and enjoy whatever your doing this Christmas!
