Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and are ready to start the New Year with a fresh outlook. I know I'm a bit late with the Happy New Year stuff with it being the 5th of January already, but I've been silent on my blog and on all of my social media accounts for a couple of weeks, so this is my first chance. The first week I was going to take off anyway, as my Christmas break after doing blogmas. But I ended up taking more time off as I got ill again! Do you remember early December, I was ill then and I was like 'well at least I wont be ill for Christmas now'. Well that illness started back on Christmas eve and it came back with a vengeance. It pretty much wiped me out for two weeks. That's why this post is a little bit later than usual. But I still wanted to write this and share with you all what I got for Christmas, as I've done it for the past few years. Please don't think that I'm bragging about what I got, I'm not at all. I just love seeing what other people got and know that a lot of people find it interesting too, so I thought I would share mine with you all. It also gives you a good idea of what reviews to expect soon.
I'll start with what Paul got me first. Every year we set each other a budget and every year we mange to go over this budget, we just love spoiling each other! Every year I do give him a few hints on some things that I've seen, especially on beauty products. On that sort of stuff he likes me to give him a little help, as he doesn't know what I've already got and would like to try. I never know what I'm going to get though, as all I give him are ideas....
Firstly we have the Charlotte Tilbury the gift of goddess skin. I've heard some great things about the magic cream, so I wanted to try a small pot out before deciding if the full pot was worth it. This set came with the magic cream, as well as the wonder glow primer and the goddess skin clay mask. I've never tried anything by Charlotte Tilbury so I'm looking forward to testing these out.
He also got me a skin care set from Pixi, called the Pixi skintreats. This has three products in this set, the famous glow tonic, the glow mud cleanser and the glow mud mask. Paul also got me the the double cleanser from Pixi, which is a collab with Caroline Hirons. I've tried a few things from Pixi and liked them, but they've mainly been from their beauty line. So I'm excited to try some of their skincare stuff. I've especially been wanting to try the double cleanse as any collab with Caroline Hirons is going to be great!
Paul knows how much I love Urban decay, it has to be one of my favourite brands. So any holiday sets that they bring out are always a great idea for me. He got me the little liquid vice set. This includes four liquid lipsticks, three of these are comfort matte and one is metallised. You can see the shade colours across the front of the packaging, which I think you'll agree there very wearable. I wore the red shade on Christmas day, it wore great and lasted well. I cant wait to try the other shades out.
From Benefit he got me the Benefit 3D browtones. I love Benefit for their brow products, most of my brow products are from Benefit. My most used and loved are definitely all from Benefit, so I'm sure I'll love this too.
Then we have the one beauty item that I specifically said I would really like and what shade to buy it in. That is the Fenty beauty foundation! Ever since it released I've wanted to try this, it sounded like my perfect foundation as its a matte finish. Which will be perfect for my oily skin. He also bought me the Fenty beauty foundation brush to go with it too.
Onto fashion items and Paul bought me this gorgeous black coat from Asos. Its very smart looking. Its one that I definitely wont be wearing to work, as they seem to wear out quicker being chucked in and out of my locker. Its got faux leather look to the collar and pockets. The cuffs are elasticated with a touch of red detailing. I love it!
He also picked me up a new black handbag from River Island. I have a black handbag from Ted baker, which I love so much. But its very big and sometimes I don't want to bring a massive handbag with me, espceially if I only have a few things. So this is going to be perfect.
Paul also got me a beautiful Alice in wonderland diary and my absolute favourite sweet... peanut brittle.
Following on from the Alice in wonderland items. My sister got me a mug with an Alice in wonderland illustration on it and it says 'were all mad here'. She also got me an Alice in wonderland diary. Paul was a little upset that my sister had got me a diary too. But I assured him that I love them both and will be using both. Paul's is a day to day Diary that has times in it and I'm going to use that to write down daily tasks and errands that I need to get done by a certain time, sort of like a check list. The one my sister got is more like a planner and is set out week by week. So I'm going to use that to plan my blog posts and workouts for the week.
My sister also got me, her and my mum tickets for us all to see Sarah Millican in October. I cant wait for that, I know its a while away yet, but its nice to have something to look forward to that all three of us can do together.
My manager at work handmade me some cosy socks and a scarf. Handmade gifts really are amazing. This must have taken her some time and they both feel very cosy.
One of my co-workers got me a tea cup and saucer, which came with tea bags and some shortbread. I love a good cup of tea and shortbread is a fave of mine too. Hence why there not in the picture, as I may have eaten them all ready with a cuppa.
Lastly is what my Mum got me. I couldn't believe that she'd bought me this. I've been lusting after one of these for years, but I've never justified spending the money on it myself. My mum said she'd found a great deal on Black Friday. It was still spendy though, so it is going to be for my birthday too and not just a Christmas present. This is the Philips Lumea, which is a laser hair removal device. I feel so lucky to have this and I cant wait to use it and tell you my thoughts.
That was more than enough from my mum, but she also went and bought me this set from Soap and Glory. Soap and Glory is a brand I love! This is the spa wonder set, there was so much Soap and Glory products in this box, it was rammed full and some of these I've not had the chance to try before either. Inside there is the thick & fast mascara, the supercat liner, a sexy mother pucker lip gloss, the radiance boosting mask, the scrub of your life body scrub, the righteous butter 3in1 (cleanse, shave & moisturise), the righteous body butter, the clean on me shower gel, the smoothie star body milk and the vitamin C facial wash.
I truly feel spoiled by my family and couldn't believe what I'd opened this year.
I cant wait to try out all my new presents and see what there like.
Is there anything above that you want me to do a review on? Let me know in the comments.
I'll definitely do a review on the Philips Lumea once I've used it for the time it says.
