Tried and tested dry shampoo

Dry shampoo has so many uses that it's become a staple in most womens makeup bags. The main use obviously is that it refreshes hair between washes absorbing the excess oil. It can also add some well needed texture to freshley washed hair, revives hair styles and add volume to limp hair.

There is so many dry shampoos out there that it can be quite difficult to choose one that you will get on with. I'm going to share my opinions with you about the ones that I have tried.

The first dry shampoo that I tried was the batiste dry shampoo in tropical

Performance: This dry shampoo is heavily scented. It's described as a coconut & exotic fragrance. Personally I think it smells a little bit like baby powder with a touch of coconut. I'm not fond of this scent at all, I find it lingers around all day and I feel that most people will be able to smell this unique scent and know I'm using a dry shampoo which is not good in my eyes. When Sprayed onto your hair it comes out very white and feels quite chalky in the hair. You need to be careful when spraying this dry shampoo as I stupidly sprayed it onto my hair near my black curtains lets just say they needed a clean afterward (fail!). This product does take a little bit longer to brush through your hair than other dry shampoos that I've tried. This product does absorb oil in your hair very well though so you can get away with that extra sneaky day but I wouldn't say that it makes your hair feel clean and fresh like it states. This used to be a favourite of mine when my hair was blonde and I think that was due to it not taking me too long to blend into my hair but when I went brunette it became a chore trying to blend into my hair. I think this would be a perfect dry shampoo for people who have blonde hair and not had the chance to try out a dry shampoo before, it's the perfect one for newbies due to its price.
Packaging: standard spray can with bright fun design. Fitting to its tropical scent.
Price: £2.99 for 200ml. Great value for your money. Available at most local supermarkets and boots

Charles worthington style setter dry shampoo.

Performance: The scent of this product is floral but not overpowering it reminds me of the Marc Jacobs perfume - daisy, which I love as it means that you don't feel that everyone knows you have dry shampoo in your hair. This dry shampoo claims to absorb oil, refresh, revitalise, strengthen and repair. When using the product I have found that it does absorb oil well, without putting too much white in your hair which means that there is a lot less brushing through the hair to make it blend. Even with my dark hair I am able to brush it through quite quickly. My hair feels refreshed when I've used this product and I  think that's mainly down to the scent as the floral scent is very fresh on the nose. This dry shampoo is great at adding volume to the hair and also revitalising day old curls. I can spray this into my hair the day after I've curled and slept on my hair scrunch it a little and it looks nearly as good as when it was first done. It's also safe for coloured hair and paraben free.
Packaging: standard spray can that has been transformed into a sleek expensive looking product The bottle is a gunmetal grey with a black lid.
Price: £5.99 for 150ml quite expensive compared to batiste but a great product that's worth it. Available at boots.

Kms California hair play makeover spray

Performance: This product has the most lovely zesty lime scent. It's described as a product that absorbs oils and builds bulk to revive day old limp styles. I found that this product didn't really seem to leave any white residue in your hair which did make me wonder if it would absorb the oil. I didn't think it was as great at absorbing the oil as the batiste and charles worthington one however it worked better if you sprayed it into your hair before bed to absorb the oil through the night. This product was especially good at revitalising day old hair styles. When spraying this onto day old curls this was defiantly better than Charles worthington, it made it look like it did on the day. It's also great at adding volume to the hair. My hair felt fresh after using this product again I think this was due to the zesty scent. This is a definite favourite of mine but mainly for reviving day old hair styles rather than a absorbing oil.
Packaging: standard spray can in a fun lime green colour with a black lid
Price: £12.99 for 250ml from myhairandbeauty.co.uk. Very pricey but love what it does to my 1 day old curls.
Rating: 7/10
