Fashion Friday - The handbag that everyone wants

I have never had so many complements on a handbag before and people asking me where they can get one. So I thought I would let you know my thoughts on this bag and also do a quick what’s in my handbag.

This is my river island yellow mini structured tote bag. It’s priced at £30.00 which for river island I thought was pretty reasonable as there handbags can be a bit on the overpriced side. This bag first caught my eye when I walked in the store due to it being so yellow. Usually I’m the kind of person that buys black, grey or nude bags so that they can basically go with everything and I can get the most wear out of it. However this year I’ve tried to get past my comfort zone with colours not only with makeup but also with fashion.

I always check a handbag out fully before buying it, by checking how easy the bag is to open and close. I found when I was trying the bag in store that the zips open fine but if you allowed them to go too far you would need two hands to do your bag back up. This is due to the zip curving inside the bag as you can see below. However this did not stop me buying this bag as I didn’t think that would bother me too much. After using the bag for a while I did find the zip situation to be annoying at times but as I have continued using the bag the zip has become a bit worn in and easier to do back up.

The bag itself has two ways you can hold it, it has structured handles so you can hold it by your hand or hold it by your wrist and it also has a strap which you can alter for shoulder wear. I love that this gives you different options of holding/wearing the bag. This makes it easier for everyday life and those times when you just have too much to carry and need to sling it over your shoulder. It also has three compartments to it.

The first compartment is a zip and inside this front part I keep my sunglasses which are by guess, a mixture of lip products (urban decay, model co, Revlon and beautiful movement cosmetics), my benefit porefessonal pro powder, hand cream from next and some fresh breath spray by ultra dex.

The second compartment is a clasp and I have found that if you have too much stuff in the front and back compartments it’s difficult to get things out of the middle section, so I try not to put too much in here and tend to keep flat things in there. In this part I usually keep my car radio, and receipts or lists and some headache tablets for just in case.

The third compartment is another zip and this is usually where I keep my purse which is from guess and my house keys can often be found in here when there not in the key cupboard. This back compartment also has a mini zip section, this is where I would keep my phone so it doesn’t get scratched by my keys and it also makes it easy to find it.

All in all I love this handbag and love the fact that I can organise my belongings into different sections. I have also found that this goes with so many outfits; it can bring out the colour in an outfit or just add a pop of colour to a bland black and white outfit
