A bridesmaids makeup needs to be flawless and have staying power. Here's how I did my makeup for the day.
I started with my face all cleansed and ready to go, The
first things I applied was balance me wonder eye cream and soap and glory’s
feel good factor moisturiser. I let this have time to sink into my face while I
brushed my teeth and then I applied lip balm to prep my lips. I used the
classic carmex lip moisturising balm.
Next I prepped my skin with urban decays naked skin
illuminating beauty balm, this has SPF 20, primes skin for makeup, oil free, it
minimises pores, lines, wrinkles and redness instantly. It also gives your skin
a radiant glow. It’s basically a wonder product, perfect for a wedding or
special occasion. I applied this using the mini optical blurring brush which
works in perfect harmony with this product.
Then I prepped my eyes by using the urban decay eye shadow
primer potion. The perfect eye primer to ensure your eye shadow powder stays
put all day/night.
The eye shadows that I used were out of the urban decay
naked 3 palette. With the brush provided in the palette I used the colour
nooner (matt taupe) all over the eye and up into the socket. Then I took the
colour dust (shimmery pale pink with glitter) with a benefit fluffy brush and
applied that on top of nooner on inner part of my eyelid. Then using the
benefit fluffy brush again I took the colour strange (matt cream with a slight
pink tinge) on my brow bone area. The last colour I used was factory (satin
brown) with a tiny brush in the outer corner of my eye and crease. Then using
the urban decay blender brush I made sure it blended together.
Next up my foundation, I have been saving this to use for
the wedding. Urban decays weightless ultra definition liquid makeup (my shade
is 2.0) This weightless formula blurs imperfections for a flawless finish that
feels lightweight and looks like your wearing no makeup. It dries semi matt
which I love as it helps to keep the shine at bay. I applied this using the
mini optical blurring brush which is designed to be used with this product.
For under my eyes I used Maybelline’s dream lumi touch to
conceal and highlight. I used my beauty blender to blend it. (I used it this
morning so excuse the makeup on it)
Then I used benefits boiing to conceal any
spots or scaring I have, using my finger.
Then I set my concealer with soap and
glory’s one heck of a blot with real techniques buffing brush.
Onto eyeliner, I used seventeen’s smoulder gel eyeliner with
benefits get bent liner brush. To create a delicate winged eye. I also used a
small amount to line under my bottom lash line.
For my eyebrows I used benefits brow zings and sealed that
in by using Maybelline’s brow drama.
Back onto the face I used benefits one hot minute bronzer
with benefits slant powder brush in the hollows of my cheeks using the 3 and E
technique.
Then using benefits coralista blusher, I applied on the apples of my
cheeks with urban decays blush brush.
Then onto one of my favourite products to use on a special
occasion is benefits watts up, a golden soft highlighter which gives you that
sun kissed glow. I use this on my cheek bones and blended with my finger tips.
Then one of the last things I apply is my mascara, I used
Lancôme’s hypnose on the tops of my lashes and Maybelline’s big eyes mini brush
for the bottom of my lashes.
To set all of this in place I use urban decays all nighter
makeup setting spray which is amazing. I will do a full review on this product
and the vigorous test I put this product through.
Then last but not least my lip product I used was model co
party proof matt lipstick in kitty.
I was so confident that my makeup would last all day that in
my handbag I only took my lipstick and benefits porfessioanl powder in case I
got a little shiny in my t zone.
I hope you enjoyed this post, I also did my mum’s (the brides) makeup for the wedding day.
So if you’re a soon to be bride and want any tips on how to keep your makeup
lasting all day long then watch out for the next makeup Monday post which will
talk you through what products I used.
