I've been trying out a few sponge blenders lately. I've used a beauty blender for quite a while now, but they are expensive so I wanted to see if there was any other beauty sponges that came close to the beauty blender.
I have the real techniques miracle complexion sponge which has the pointy egg top, the bottom however is flat but slanted. This sponge is a little bit more dense than the beauty blender, but when you wet this sponge well it applies foundation really well. I don't like the top of the real technique sponge though as I can't get it to blend my concealer in around my area very well as its quite big. If it had a little bit more of a point to the end, it would be just as good as the beauty blender I think. I purchased this for £5.99 so it's a big saving in comparison to the beauty blender that's £16.00, I would recommend this as an alternative.
Next I have the nicka k airbrush blending sponge that I got out of my glossybox. You can get this from nicka.com for £6.50. Out of the three sponges this is the most firm, beause of this it doesn't really enlarge in size when under water as it doesn't take much in at all. This has a dome shape which is supposed to help blend into those nooks around the nose. This does blend around the nose just fine but it's no good for around my eyes. As the songe is very firm I find that it doesn't feel that nice when blending your foundation as the other two.
Personally for me I would rate them in this order
- beauty blender
- Real techniques miracle sponge
- Nicka k airbrush sponge
The real techniques is a very close second so if you don't have the money to spend on the beauty blender the real techniques in my opinion is the closest to it and gets great results.
Have you tried any other beauty sponges that are as good or better than the beauty blender?
