Brows - Pencil vs Tint vs Powder vs Gel

There are so many different brow products out there. Its hard to know which type of product to go for. I never really use to bother too much with my brows to be honest. It was only when I had my makeup done at the benefit counter that I decided I needed brow products. Brows define our face, so by putting that little extra effort into filling in any gaps and adding shape to our brows it just changes up your look instantly.

I first started out with the brow powder as that was what was used on me at the benefit counter at the time. But in the last year I've tried pencil, tint and gel.

The first product I have is soap and glory's archery. This is double ended, one side is a pencil and the other is a tint. You can use these separately or you can use them together. Ive used them separately so you can see the difference between the product.

So first I used the pencil. As you can see the pencil gives a soft natural look to the brows. I find this is perfect for day to day work as its not overly done up it just hides any sparse areas. The pencil isnt going to keep your  brows tamed, but it will fill in any gaps in your brows and make you look little bit more put together.

The second part which is the tint gives a more defined look. The tint end is like a pen which means you can be more precise with the shaping and defining of your brows and can also do small strokes that look more like brow hairs. The tint again isn't going to tame your brows but it will fill in gaps and define them. Once the tint is applied it doesn't smudge, so it's long lasting.

These two work well together too, hence why soap and glory have put them in one product. You can use the brow tint to define the shape of your brows and then you can use the pencil to fill any gaps you may have.

The next brow product is brow powder, the one I have is benefits browzings. Brow powder can make your brows look thicker, bold and defined. Usually the brow powder will come with wax. I like to dip the brush into the wax first then into the powder and apply to my brows. This helps the powder to stick to your brows in a more natural way. Rather than applying wax to your brows after which can sometimes make your brows look stiff and un-natural.

The last product is brow gel, I have benefits gimme brow. Gel makes your brows look thicker by adding fibres to them and really helps to tame them. This is perfect for when you don’t have a lot of time to spend on your brows. You can quickly brush this through your brows which will tame them, fill in gaps and make them look thicker in seconds. The only downside to this is that it can make your brows look a little crispy if you apply too much.

Personally I like to use the pencil for when I'm at work for a softer look. The pencil and tint together for a natural defined look. The powder I like using for evenings out as it’s a more bolder look and I will use the gel when I don’t have time to do my brows or if they look particularly unruly that day.

If I could only repurchase one of the three products that I've spoke about it would most likely be the soap and glorys archery tint and pencil.

What brow product do you prefer?
