Last week I went into my Top 5 high-end mascara's and this week its all about my Top 5 lower-end mascara. I'm going to let you know why these are my top 5 low-end mascara's and how they look on my lashes.
Soap and Glory - Thick and Fast
This mascara has strength building collagen. The brush is flared on one side, which is supposed to length, definition and drama.
As you can see from my lashes, it delivers what it promises. After one coat my lashes are lengthened, defined and have some great volume. My lashes don't feel hard once they are dry, like they do with some mascaras. They are flexible and flake free. By the end of the day my lashes still look as good as when I first applied the mascara. I think you could use this mascara for day or even for the evening by building it up.
Revlon volume and Length
Revlon completely redesigned their whole mascara range, they discontinued all their old lines and brought out five new ones. These were all in one, ultra volume, volume and length, super length and lastly dramatic definition. I got this one out of my Glossybox, we were given a choice out of which one we wanted to try and this is the one I chose.
The brush on this mascara is thick and compact, it kind of reminds me of the benefits bad gal brush. This brush is supposed to magnify and coat every single lash to ensure every lash has intense volume and length.
This added great volume to the base of lashes and really gave them some length. Its no so over the top though that its not suitable for day to day wear. This wore really nicely throughout the day, it didn't flake or smudge. It looked just as good as when I first applied it.
Rimmel Super curler
This mascara has a curling and fixing polymer formula, so that your lashes get that perfect curve and last for 24hrs. This brush is curved so that it fits perfectly to the shape of your eye making it easier to to apply and get that curve.
This really does add a nice curl to your lashes. This doesn't really add a lot of length like the others do, but that's fine as I bought this for the curl and volume effect. This curl lasts all day, I was so surprised that it did too, I expected it to drop after a few hours. I really like this one for day to day wear. I reach for this one a lot at the moment.
Maybelline Big eyes
(I actually picked mine up from Asda for £3, they have been on this offer in Adsa a few times now)
This is a double ended mascara, that has one brush for your upper lashes and one for your lower lashes. The upper lash brush is supposed to pump up the volume and the lower lash brush is supposed to grab all your lower lashes and magnify them.
My lashes don't have major volume, but this really separates and lengthens my lashes. I don't usually apply mascara to my bottom lashes, just because I end up getting it all over my face instead. This bottom lash brush is amazing though, it grabs every single lash and really magnify's them. This is also a waterproof mascara. I always like to have at least one waterproof mascara for days that could possibly be emotional, humid days and holidays.
Rimmel Day 2 Night
A mascara that promises to deliver not one but two different lash looks out of one mascara brush. The magic is in the cap apparently. Its called day to night as the first cap is all about the giving you ultra defined lengthened lashes, which are supposed to be great for day to day wear. The second cap is all about thickening up your lashes, making them look 15x fuller and adding the drama which of course is great taking your look from day to night!
From the second picture you can see that the first cap separates my lashes defining them and giving them the length. The third picture shows the night cap, I would say that they look 15x fuller but they definitely have a lot more volume. This mascara is another waterproof one, so again its perfect for me to take away on holidays for day and evening wear.
Out of my lower end mascara picks which one is your favourite or which one do you want to try out now?
