Date Night Outfit

Life can be so busy, sometimes you just need to take some time out and go on a date night! Whether that's a date night with your partner or even your girlie's. Its great to take that time, to catch up and reconnect after the busy weeks you've had. It's also a great excuse to get dressed up and either buy a new outfit or restyle and old one.

Me and my partner always like to go on date nights. We are quite busy people as we both work in retail, which can be a very demanding job. Especially at this time of year, any of you that work in retail will completely understand. But I wouldn't say our lives are as hectic as some peoples, especially nothing like those who have children to look after too. We often set aside time every week, were we just turn off social media, watch a film and get cosy on the sofa. But every now and then ,Me and Paul like to have a more special date night. Were we will get dressed up and go to a really nice restaurant.

I decided to restyle an old outfit, for our date night. I based my outfit around a Ted Baker skirt, that I've only worn once. I love it so much and wish I could wear it more often, but I feel its more of a special occasion skirt. One that I defiantly wouldn't wear on a normal night out, in fear of someone spilling drink down me. This is a midi skirt, that's grey and black. It has a floral pattern, which I think is quite fitting for a date night. I think I paid around £90 for this skirt, I cant quite remember how much, as I did purchase this from the York outlet store last December. But here is a similar skirt, if you quite like this style.

The top I chose to complement the skirt is quite plain, but it has some pretty detailing. I've gone for a black, high neck, long sleeved top. Which has lace detailing and a ribbed design. The lace detailing is around the shoulder area, which just dresses this top up a bit more. The back of this top is open from the neck to half way down. You will notice some buttons around the back of the neck, which helps to support the high neck design. This top, believe it or not is actually by Asos. I was bought this last Christmas, I believe it was around £18. I think it looks a lot more expensive than that. They no longer sell this any more, but here is a similar version, that's just as on trend.

I actually chose ankle boots to go with this outfit, they are by Ravel. I bought them quite early on this year. I got them in the sale from Asos for around £45. I've gone with boots instead of shoes, as I liked the edginess it gave to the outfit. But if you wanted to make it more girlie, then of course heels would be perfect. But if the boots are up your street, then have a look at these here.

My bag is a black sequinned clutch bag by Beth J. Its a hard box design bag, which doesn't really fit a lot in. But on date night all I need is my lipstick, phone and a place to store the hubby's debit card. I picked this up from TKMaxx about two years ago, for around £15. Here's a similar bag here.

Underwear is something we just don't talk about, its more of a taboo subject. But underwear is just as important to pick out for you date night, as the clothing is. I've always liked pretty underwear, but I was never really that bothered about it matching. Since I've got a bit older, I've become more obsessed with having pretty/sexy matching sets. I found a sexy set of underwear, that would go perfectly under my date night outfit. The set I've picked out is from the brand Adore Me, I picked out the Zariah set. Bralettes are perfect for date nights, they are sexy but also very comfortable. This bralette is lace and has a high neck, which matches my top. It means that the straps are unseen, in the lace parts of my top. It gives the illusion that I'm not actually wearing a bra, which adds to the sexiness of the date night outfit. Check out there website, they have some really pretty sets of underwear.

For all my ladies in the UK, that cant get hold of Adore me underwear. Check out, some of New Look's bralettes.
