Last weekend, me and Paul decided it was time to get the Christmas decorations out. Paul's the one that decides when its not too early, for us to put our decorations up. If it was up to me, I think I would've had the decorations out at the beginning of November. Last year we went to Costa and enjoyed a festive drink and snack before going home and putting up the decorations. This year we decided to do the same thing, and kind of make it one of our little Christmas traditions. Enjoying some festive treats, is a great way to get you in the Christmas mood. Also coffee is needed to get through the assembly of the tree, it has to be assembled branch by branch.
We both chose the pigs in blanket panini and the shimmer cake. The shimmer cake is salted caramel and chocolate. This was so tasty and moist, just like a cake should be. I wish I had a slice right now to eat! After having a panini each, I think we could have easily shared the cake. But being the piggies we are, we ended up with a piece each.
The festive drink I chose was the salted caramel cappuccino, it came topped with a salted caramel fudge crumb. Can you tell I like salted caramel? Paul went for a hot chocolate. He really wanted to try the Lindt hot chocolate, but unfortunately they had run out of that. So instead, he chose the chocolate orange hot chocolate.
After we'd finished enjoying the treats and stuffing our faces, we came home and started the fun part. Decorating the house.
Here's a few pictures of how we decorated this year and some of my favourite baubles....
Once the house and tree were decorated, we settled down to watch a film. It did take a while to decorate, I'm a bit OCD about how my tree looks. I'm getting much better though, last year I didn't even let Paul place any baubles on the tree. This year I actually let him do quite a bit. We were in quite festive mood, after the festive treats and decorating. We decided to carry on the festivities and watch a Christmas movie. Polar express is the film I chose to watch. Its one that I'd only seen partially myself and Paul hadn't even seen it. The perefect film to kick off the Christmas movie season with.
Have you got your decorations up yet?
