Blogmas Day 18 - Quick Make-up Look

The For work, I need a make-up look that's quick, easy to do and doesn't look overly made up. I do the same basic make-up look, everyday for work. But its a look that I can easily add to when I get home, to make it look more done up if I'm off out, after work. My work make-up generally takes me around 5-10 minutes to complete, so not long at all. I thought I would share with you, what products I use and what I do. To complete my quick, easy make-up look.

I always start with a cleansed and moisturised face. I'm not going to go through these steps, as I did show you, my morning skincare routine a few days ago. So click here if you haven't read that yet.

After I've moisturised my first step is my eyes. I use Urban Decays primer potion all over my eye lids, this makes sure that my eye shadow doesn't budge all day long. The eye shadows I use are a benefit palette, its their world famous neutrals palette. I use call my bluff, all over my eye lid and up to my brow bone. Then I take gilt-y pleasure, and apply to half my eyelid and into the lid crease. Lastly I take the shadow, kiss me I'm tipsy and use this on the outer corner of my eye, to give my eyes a slight smokiness.

Then I'll move onto my face and apply my foundation. My foundation can change day to day, depending on what my skin is like that day. But at the moment I do seem to be using this foundation quite a bit. This is by Bourjois, its their 123 perfect CC cream. I have this in the shade, ivory. This has three colour correcting pigments. Apricot to illuminate, green to conceal redness and white to hide dark spots. They all work together to give you an luminous complexion and smooth skin. This also has SPF15 and ensures 24hr hydration.

The concealer I'm using at the moment is L'oreal's, true match. The shade I have is vanilla. This is a bendable correcting concealer. It hides imperfections, blemishes and evens out skin tone. I use this under my eyes, and it covers my dark circles perfectly.

I like to set my foundation and concealer in place with a powder. I use Rimmel's stay matte, in transparent. I don't want to add any more colour to my face, which is why I use the transparent shade. But I do want to make sure that oil is kept at bay. This powder gives up to five hours natural shine control. Using natural minerals. It also helps to minimise pores. I used, to use the Soap and Glory, one heck of a blot. But found that his product did exactly the same, but for a much cheaper price.

Next I use a bronzer, to add a bit of colour back into my face. I use Soap and Glory's, solar powder bronzer. I got this last Christmas, I've used it everyday for work and it looks like its barely been touched. A little of this goes a long way. This bronzer gives you an instant sun-kissed glow.
For blusher I use Universal Beauty's, secret flush in the shade nectar. This is a cream blusher, which I apply with a blending sponge. So it doesn't move around the make-up underneath it. I use this because it stays put all day, and just looks like a natural flush in the cheeks.

Then I move back to the eye area and quickly, sort and tame, my crazy morning brows. I use Studio 10's brow perfecting liner. This is a double ended pencil, that's a universal shade, that complements hair shades and skin tone. This brow pencil is soft, so its very easy to apply. Its smudge-proof, so it stays put. I would say it takes me around 30 seconds, to perfect my brows with this, its just so quick and easy.

To line my eyes I'm using a product I recently got out of my Birchbox. Its Ciate's fierce flicks liner. For me felt tip style liners are quick and easy. All I have to do, is sweep it across my eye, in one quick stoke and there done. This has a jet black formula, that once dry wont smudge. It's perfect for a long day in the office.

I use two products on my lashes, a primer and a mascara. I will always make time to use a primer on my lashes, even for work. The primer I use is by Urban Decay, its called subversion. This ensures that my lashes stay strong and long. One coat of this primes and keeps lashes conditioned all day long. It contains vitamin E and Panthenol. Urban Decay describe this primer, like a mini-mask for your lashes.
The Mascara I use for work, is Revlon's volume and length magnified. I wouldn't say that this gives great volume to your lashes, but it does lengthen them. So its the perfect day time and work mascara. It doesn't irritate my eyes and doesn't flake throughout the day.

Lastly I apply a lip balm. If you don't know which one that is, then you can't have been reading my past posts. For any of you that don't know. I use the Organic Pharmacy's antioxidant lip balm. Which helps to protect and restore lips, ensuring they stay soft.

Although there is a long list of products, this really doesn't take me much time to do, at all. Its a very quick and easy look. That ensures I look put together for work, but not over done. If I had to tone it down further and only use bare minimum products. Then I would end up just using the concealer, powder, brow pencil, liner, mascaras and lastly the lip balm. These are my essential items, that make me look awake, put together and just more like myself.

If you had to complete a quick make-up look, what essential products would you use?
