Sleek Matte Me

Matte lip products are something I'm quite obsessed with and my obsession has only grown since it become popular in the beauty world. Before all these beautiful matte lip products were being launched I used to just line my lips with a lip liner, it gave the same effect. I love how my lips look with a matte product and I like how my lips seem to look bigger. I've never really been a avid lip gloss applier. I hate the stickiness of lip gloss, especially when your hair gets stuck in it. I'm much more or a lip stick girl, there non sticky, hair doesn't stick to it and it doesn't need reapplying often. So you can see why my obsession has grown to matte products.

I own a few products already, mainly lipstick crayons and lipsticks, but I didn't own any matte gloss. I went into my local boots about a week ago now and went in search of a good nude matte lip gloss. I swatched quite a few and found a few brands that I wanted to try, but most of the brands that I liked had all sold out of the nude shades. Then I came across the sleek section, which is definitely new to my local boots. I've never seen it in there before, But how long its been in there I have no idea as usually I do most of my shopping online.

I ended up picking two shades from the Sleek matte me lip creams. I went with the perfect nude shade I'd been looking for called, birthday suit and a more vampy mauve purple called, shabby chic. These apply really nicely and have great colour pay off. They dry down really quick to the point that there is no lip gloss transfer, until you re-wet them by taking a drink or licking your lips. I have been wearing these constantly since I bought them and they would have made an appearance in my February favourites if I'd bought them earlier on in the month. I didn't find these uncomfortable to wear at all, for me they weren't too drying on the lips.

I actually put this lip gloss through its paces without even realising. Basically I didn't set out to even test it like this in the first place, but as I said I've been wearing it constantly since purchasing it. It was put to its first test with a massive burger. I thought I would definitely have to reapply after eating a massive burger and drinking a pint of water to wash it down. But when I checked to reapply, it was still as perfect as when I'd applied it in the morning. Later that day I'd fallen asleep on the couch, probably to do with the mass amount of food I ate that day. But when I woke up, again it still looked as perfect as it had done in the morning. I'd managed to go a full day of wearing this lip gloss, eating, drinking and sleeping, to find that it still looked like I'd just applied it. If your an excessive lip licker, then its going to need touching up. I've found that the only time I've had to do touch ups is when I've over licked my lips or been drinking lots of fluids, meaning they got too wet and transferred onto the glass.

All in all I think this is a great matte lip product, its long lasting, not overly drying, has great colour pay off and only costs £4.99. I also like the packaging on this product. Its just simple clear tube so you can see the colour your grabbing for and has a sleek black lid.

This is the first product I've tried by sleek, is there any products you've tried that you would recommend?
