Birchbox Vs Glossybox June

After waiting what felt like an eternity for my Birchbox to arrive (in reality it was only a week, but it felt way longer), due to it being sent to the wrong depot by Hermes. I was super excited when they both finally landed on my doorstep and I could delve into this months contents.

Birchbox
Box theme : Day Tripping

This month Birchbox wasn't a box, it's actually a Birch-bag. We had the choice to choose the colour of the bag, either purple and yellow or purple and green. I went for the purple and green one. It was quite hard to choose between them, because they both looked so cute. Birchbox took inspiration from Brighten beach for the colours of this bag. This months theme is about celebrating home holiday destinations in the UK and going on those day trips. The bag is perfect for taking on those day trips!

A precise brow pencil that has a cruelty-free formula. The formula has been specially created to glide on effortlessly for naturally defined arches. This pencil is really creamy and does look like it will glide on really quickly.
This is a full sized product and costs £12.99, but it's so small I thought it was a sample size!

Make-up sponges that will make light work of applying foundation and concealer. These sponges are made from 70% plant-based materials and they can be used wet or dry. I love beauty sponges, so this product excites me. I'm always on the look out for new beauty sponges that could be as good at the beauty blender, I like that these can be used dry too.
These are also full sized and they cost £9.99

This is a moisturiser that gives instant radiance and all-day hydration. It's a water-light lotion that's brimming with nutritious triple algae blend, which delivers a dose of antioxidants for smooth healthy skin. I'm looking forward to trying this out, I'm very into using pore minimising products. So we shall see how this product works. By the way this moisturiser smells amazing! and feels super fresh.
For a full sized version this would set your back £36 for 100ml. The sample size I received is 5ml and would cost £1.80.

This scrub is made up from 100% natural ingredients. It stimulates circulation, buffing away dead skin cells and hydrating skin as it goes. To be quite honest I'm not excited to try this, just because I've already tried this in last months Glossybox. I did really like the scrub, it exfoliated well and smelt amazing. But I did find it to be a bit on the messy side.
For 200g this cost £11.95. The sample I received is 50g, so this would cost around £2.99.

This not only gives your skin a subtle glow, but it also blurs skin imperfections and hydrates skin with vitamin B5 and Shea butter. I do like to protect my skin when out in the sun, so it does take me quite a while to get a glow. I'm looking forward to trying this out, It will be perfect for those days I want to wear a dress and need to make my legs instantly glow.
For a full sized bottle this would cost £29.95 for 100ml. The sample size I have is 7ml and would cost around £2.10.

Box Price : £12.95 (including p+p)
Box Value : £29.87
Full Sized Products : 2/5
Products Excited To Try: 3/5
Overall Thoughts : I'm not impressed by some of the sample sizes this month, especially the Vita Liberata body blur. I will hopefully get one application out of this, but only on the legs this will no way stretch to the whole body. I'm disappointed in receiving the Scrub Love just because I got it in Glossybox last month and that sample size was 50g bigger too. I'm excited to try the beauty sponges and the moisturiser. Those two products are my kind of thing, I cant wait to test them out.

Glossy Box
Box theme :Effortlessly Healthy

In the summer months we tend to spend as much time as we can outside, especially if its warm sunny day. Not that we get many of those in the UK. But when we do, we want to spend less time getting ready and more time out having fun. This months Glossybox is all about introducing you to products that will achieve that effortless healthy look for your skin and hair. There is no special design for this months box, however they've added in a bonus 6th product for this month, which is way better than a special box. Glossybox has also included a few chapters of the new book from blogger Louise Pentland (Sprinkle of Glitter), which is called Wilde like me. I'm looking forward to reading those few chapters to see if its worth buying the full book.

This black peel off mask has activated charcoal to deep cleanse and balance oil. I love peel off masks, I have one from First Aid Beauty that's a red clay mask. I'm looking forward to trying this out and seeing if it helps unclog my pores.
You can get a pack of three for £4.95. I received one out of the three, so this would cost £1.65.

Glossybox says that this is one of the most luxurious eye products out there. It reduces dark circles, minimises puffiness, softens the appearance of fine lines and also keeps the eye area hydrated. This was the one product that I knew I was getting, as it was lasts months sneak peek. I'm looking forward to trying this out, its very expensive so I hope this actually lives up to what it says it does.
For 15ml it costs £110!! I have a 5ml sample, which would cost around £36.67 (what! - It's tiny)

A pretty shade that contains a lip-tingling ingredient that encourages blood to the surface of the lips, making them look fuller and plumper. The shade I have is called Notorious Nude, its a very pretty nude colour that would suit most peoples skin tone. I really like lip crayons. I prefer them to normal lipsticks, as its easier to apply to your lips in a hurry than a normal lipstick is. I used to love the lip plumping lip gloss from Urban Decay, I'm sure I'm going to really like this.
This is full size and costs £5.49.

This is a purifying face was that helps to prevent pimples. The face wash uses Neem, which has anti-bacterial properties that makes it great at cleansing skin. I've never heard of this brand before, that's not to say that it wont be any good though. I don't really get many spots, I mainly get them around a certain time of the month which is due to hormones and then its one or two. I'm not in a rush to try this out and I'm not sure If I'll really see any benefits from this face wash, but I will eventually get round to trying it out. I do think that this will end up finding its way to my sister though.
This costs £3.29 for 150ml. The sample I received is 50ml and would cost around £1.10.

This makes sure your hair is never boring and always has volume! If you need your hair to have serious height, this will create that volume but also nourish and strengthen hair at the same time. Volume sprays don't really bother me too much. I have thick hair so I'm never too bothered about adding extra volume. However, I think it will come in handy to add some texture to hair on those days when my hair has been freshly washed.
This is full size and costs £4.29.

A liquid highlighter that you can either dot along cheekbones or blend it in with foundation to create a dewy look. This highlighter looks beautiful, its a golden rose colour and I cant wait to see what this looks like in both the suggest ways.
This is full size and costs £22.50.

Box Price : £13.25 (including p+p)
Box Value : £71.70
Full Sized Products : 3/6
Products Excited To Try : 4/6
Overall Thoughts : First of all wow on the box value! But for me its not about the worth of the box its how well the contents are suited to me. I'm excited to try more than half of the contents in this months box. I love peel off masks and lipstick crayons so this box was onto a winner with me with just those two products. I cant wait to try that highlighter out, I think it will look even more amazing on skin that has a sun-kissed glow. I can't wait to see if the eye gel lives up to its crazy price tag too!

June Box Winner
Glossybox

It's Glossybox for me, due to the fact that I'm looking forward to more of the products in this box than Birchbox. The products were more suited to me and the samples were much better than Birchbox's. Some of the samples are so small in the Birchbox that I'm not sure if I'll be able to try them out properly. Where as the Glossybox's samples are great sizes allowing you to really test the product before committing to buy the product.

What was your favourite box this month?

Don't forget to check back next month, to see what July has to offer.

SNEAK PEEK
Birchbox : Benefit - Multi-purpose make-up (cha cha tint or go go tint)
