Mascara madness

So I thought i would go through my mascaras that are open. I have two high end and two drugstore mascaras that I'm using at the moment.

Rimmels day 2 night mascara creates two different looks. It has a cap to lengthen and a cap that gives volume. You can use them separately or together. It's only one brush that's normal looking but when using the lengthen part the brush is pulled through a much smaller hole meaning most the mascara stays in the bottle where as the volume part is pulled through a bigger hole meaning more mascara is on the brush which adds the volume.
This is advertised as a mascara to use the lengthen in the day and and the volume for the night. Personally I wouldn't use it for that as applying wet mascara over dry never goes well but using it straight after the lengthen works. I do find that when using the volume part you end up with quite clumpy lashes until the mascara is near the end. I also found that throughout the day this does start to flake. As you can see though it really does lengthen and separate the lashes.

I would give the mascara a 6/10

This mascara is £7.99 from boots I have repurchased this in the past however after trying some new mascaras over the last month I don't think I would repurchase again.

Maybellines big eyes mascara is a duel ended mascara. It has a brush for the upper and lower lashes. The upper lash bristle is twisted around the brush in a curve which is supposed to give a full fan effect look to the eye. The lower lash brush is a very small brush that curves slightly to fit perfectly to your lower lashes. It grabs hold of them and magnifies them.
I love this mascara just for the the lower lash brush. This pushes lashes up and gives them some volume. I haven't had any flakiness from the mascara and it doesn't irritate my eyes.

I would give the mascara a 8/10

This mascara is £8.99 from boots. I would defiantly be repurchasing this especially for when I go on holiday as I like a good water proof mascara for when your in the pool and this is a good waterproof
mascara.

Benefit they're real mascara is suppose to give a look of false lashes. It should curl, volumise , lift and separate. It has a plastic brush which is flexible. It has a bristles on the very tip of the brush which makes it easier to apply mascara to the inner and outer lashes.
As you can see it added lots of volume, separated and lifted them. Typically this is a mascara that I use for a night out or special occasions as it does give that false lash effect. I find that the mascara drys quite hard and does flake off a little which irritate my eyes however, this only seems to happen towards the end of the day.

I would rate this 8.5/10. If it didn't dry so hard it would be a 9 possibly a 10

This mascara is £19.50 from boots. This is a mascara that I would repurchase.

Lancôme hypnose mascara is supposed to separate your lashes and intensify the look of them. It's not supposed to clump so that you can build the look. This brush has an hour glass look to it which gets every lash in one swipe. Usually the when I use a new mascara for the first time it's not fun as there usually too goopy the first few times. This mascara was not, I instantly fell in love with it.
I could build the mascara without it clumping. It separated my lashes amazingly and as you can see my lashes look like they have doubled in length and volume. My lashes don't feel like I have mascara on as the mascara doesn't dry hard they are still flexible but held in place. I have had no flakiness with this mascara and it doesn't irritate my eyes. Where has this mascara been, it's my new favourite and I can't wait to try out more mascaras from Lancôme.

I would rate this as 10/10

This mascara is £22.50 from boots. It's a little on the pricy side but I think it's well worth it and I will be repurchasing for definite.
