Fashion Friday - Summer Clothing Haul

I feel like I've not bought any summer clothes at all! That's probably to do with the fact that there hasn't been much sun. That was even reflected in my last fashion post a couple of weeks ago, which you may have seen, it was my fashion wish-list. There was only a few pieces from that wish-list, that were summery feeling. Most of them were still quite spring time pieces, that I was lusting after. After posting my wish-list and taking my usual long time trying to decide what I wanted to purchase, a couple of sales had started. The River Island and New look sale. I looked at the preview sale for River Island and OMG! the bomber jacket and the orange dress that was on my wish-list had gone in the sale for less that half price. They were both available in my size, I was so freaking excited. I added them to my bag and went to check out and in about half an hour of adding them to my bag and going through the rest of the sale items, they had gone out of stock. I was not happy! The white dress from New Look had also gone in the sale and was not available in my size.

So I decided to go into town and check out River Island's sale in-store. I managed to find the orange dress, they didn't have it in a size 8 but they did have it available in a 6. I'm not a size 6 at all but in those style dress because I'm quite small up top (basically no boobs, ha) I can sometimes get away with a 6 from River Island. This dress should have cost £45 and was in the sale for £20. I love the colour orange, it's one of my favourite colours to wear. I also really like the floral crochet detailing on the top and bottom of the dress.

They never had the bomber Jacket in-store so I just had to deal with being too slow on preview day. I did however find these espadrille wedges, which I'd been eyeing up a while ago. But no way did I want to spend £45 on them. They only had one size 7 left, so I was super happy that I had spotted these in-store as on-line they were out of stock. These had gone down to £20. I think I'll get quite a lot of wear out of these, as they are not overly high and they look like they would be great for day and evening looks too.

My next sale purchase came from Tesco's. I was in there with my mum helping her do a bit of shopping and we just ended up looking at the clothes, as you do. I came across this bikini that was in the sale. I fell in love the bright colours and the print to, it reminded me of Hawaii. The top was reduced from £8 to £4 and the bottoms were reduced from £6 to £3. I've not got a holiday booked yet, but I bought this hoping that a late summer holiday will happen.

The last item that I purchased was from Asos, this was not in the sale. But as soon as I saw these appear online, I wanted them! These sunglasses are £12 and they are category 3, which is very important to me. Your eyes needs to be protected from the sun, category 3 is the highest you can get before getting prescription sunglasses. It shows that you don't need to buy expensive sunglasses to ensure your eyes are protected. These are a cat eye style, with a brown tortoise shell design across the top, this fades into a light grey around the sides and the base of the glasses have no rim. I just think they look chic and more expensive than what they are. I also really like that they fold quite flat, so you can get thim into even the smallest bags.

That's it for my summer clothing haul, Im really happy with everything I purchased and quite wait to wear my new bits. What's your favourite item that I bought?
