In the summer I like to try and skip the foundation, I tend to just stick to a bit of concealer and powder. With with my skin being quite oily in the summer, I can run the risk of foundation just melting off my face! Not a great look. Its been scorching in the UK over the past week and a half and since this great weather started, I switched up my make-up and I've been pretty much wearing the look I'm about to show you everyday.
When summer arrives I like to look glowy and bronzed, so here's how I took my face from looking dull, pale and blotchy to bronzed and glowy.
First up I applied Benefit's Dew the Hoola all over my face and neck (For a full review check it out here).
Then I took Maybelline's fit me concealer in the shade, 10. I applied this under my eyes, around my nose and on my chin to disguise my dark circles and red patches. This concealer is great at covering everything up and lasting all day.
To set this all in place and add a bit more colour to my skin I used Maybelline's 24hr waterproof powder in the shade, Nude (21). This is shine, oil, sweat, heat and humidity resistant and leaves your skin looking flawless. Its supposed to last 24hrs, but I really don't think it does. I think It lasts a good 8-10hrs and I also think its a bit like a cheaper version of Benefits hello flawless.
Onto the eyes, I always use Urban decay's primer potion to prime my eyes. I've never found anything that's better than this or even compares to this primer. To me it's the best of the best!
Next I applied Love Of Colour's one and done stick all over my eyelid in the shade, champagne problems. This is so quick and easy to apply, I just applied the stick all over my lid and then blended it with my finger.
To add a bit of depth to my eye and a bit more of a bronzed look to my life. I used Benefits velvet eyeshadow in the shade, rich beach. I used this in the outer corner of my eye, the crease and just above my crease. My eyes are hooded so any eyeshadow I apply to the outer corner and crease need to be
taken higher, otherwise I may as well not apply it as you cant see it unless my eyes are closed.
My eyeliner is Kat Von D's Tattoo liner, in storm trooper. With this liner I did a really small simple flick. This is my favourite eye liner and I no longer need to hunt for a UK replica. As Kat Von D is coming to the UK!!!! This makes me so gosh darn happy!
Back to the face and time to really get my bronze on. I took Beneifts One Hot Minute bronzer, which unfortunately they no longer sell. Which is sad times as you can see how pretty the bronzer is from my swatch. This is a really nice golden, shimmery bronzer that you can really build up to add that glow.
My blusher is by Benefit, its their Rockteur one. This is pink/coral blusher with a slight gold shimmer to it.
The highlighter I used was out of my Nars-issist palette. It's called albatross. This is such a pretty gold colour. I used this on my cheekbones, which complement my blusher really well, I also used this on my brow bone and on the inner corner of my eye.
Time to finish the eyes off now. I took Benefits Ka-Brow, which is brow gel and the shade I have is number 3. I filled in any sparse areas and really defined my brows with this. I absolutely love this brow product, its so quick to fill your brows in with, looks natural and its waterproof.
I primed my lashes with Benefits They're real tinted primer. I always use a primer to help keep my lashes conditioned throughout the day. This one is great as its in mink brown, so for those days were you want a no make-up look day this is great to wear on it's own.
Over the top of the primer I applied Rimmel's super curls mascara. This gives great volume, length and curl to your lashes. Here's my full thoughts on the mascara.
That's it, my easy to do Bronzed summer glow make-up.
Is their any products you always save just to use in the summer?
