There are a few things I love about going on holiday, one of them is being
able to get dressed up every evening. I love getting dressed up and when you’re
at home, the opportunity to get dressed up doesn't come around that often. I
like to spend a few days before I go away planning my outfits and picking out
shoes and accessories that can be used with multiple outfits. Otherwise I'd end
up with an extremely overweight suitcase.
I'm not one of these people that has to go out and buy a whole new
wardrobe before I go away. I like to buy a couple of new purchases and pair
older pieces with them, or style them differently. So go grab a cuppa and come
and see what I wore while we were on holiday.
Day 1
I'm wearing a very simple outfit, a skirt and top.
The tank top is from Primark, I've had this for a few years. But you can always find cheap little tank tops from Primark anytime of the year. This one is black with a ribbed finish and has three buttons running down from the chest area.
My skirt is an oldie from River Island, I think this is about two years old. I love the pattern on the skirt, it's quite tribal looking. It has an elasticised waist, which is perfect for my shape and has black buttons all the way down the front. I love the bright orange and cream colour thrown into the pattern with the dark grey and black.
My shoes again are oldies from River Island. I think I've had these for over 7 years, but haven’t worn them in ages. They have become a favourite of mine again, as they are simple but edgy looking with all the strap details. Most importantly they are comfy to wear, as the heel is quite low.
The handbag is from therapy, again I’ve had this for a few years. Its patent black, with a quilting design and a gold chain strap.
Day 2
Another skirt and top combo.
The top is a simple white crop top from Miss Selfridge. I did purchase this last year, but you can get basic crop tops from most places now. I went very plain on the top, as you can see the skirt is quite patterned.
This floral skirt is from River Island, this was purchased a couple of years ago. It’s a beautiful bright floral skirt, which has a zip at the back. It's a tulip style skirt that’s again very flattering for my shape.
My shoes are white flat sandals from Oasis, purchased last year. These remind me of the brand Ted Baker, most likely because of the bow detail.
The bag is a nude channel inspired bag, with a gold twist clasp and gold chain strap. This was from New Look, last year.
Day 3
One of the best times to rock a playsuit is on holiday, especially a short one.
This playsuit is from Miss Selfridge, I picked this up in the sale a few years ago. I like this one as there is no Zip to faff around with, it just opens wider at the boobs. The design on this playsuit is tribal looking, it has a few colours running through it too.
I decided to bring the bright pink out and paired it with this bright pink clutch. I picked this up from Asos at the beginning of the year.
My shoes are the same black, River Island ones.
Day 4
A playsuit outfit again, but this one was very fitting for the meal we went to. As we went for an oriental feast, and I felt like this outfit felt very Japanese. I think all I needed to finish it off was my hair up in a bun and some chopsticks in my hair.
The playsuit is by Parisian, which you can get from New look or on Asos. This one is a bit longer, so it’s a bit more flattering.
The white sandals are the same Oasis ones and the handbag is the same one from New look.
Day 5
A summer holiday needs a bright orange dress and here’s mine.
This dress is from River Island and I bought this a couple of months ago in the sale. I love the lace detailing along the bottom and top of the dress.
I chose to wear a lace choker I got from Asos, I thought it went perfectly with the lace detailing of the dress.
I also wore the same black, River Island shoes and the black bag from Therapy.
Day 6
This was my last outfit for the holiday. I always like to try and have a
white dress for the end of my holiday, if it’s a beach holiday. There’s no
better way to show off your tan, than in a white dress.
The dress I’m wearing is from New Look premium, it reminded me of the self
portrait dresses. I had been eyeing them up for so long on Asos, but there so
expensive. This, however was a fraction of the price.
I chose to bring some different shoes for this dress, I could have re-used
the Oasis sandals if I had wanted to. But instead I chose to bring these
espadrille wedges from River Island. They have a glitzy front to them and they
tie up your ankle.
Lastly the bag is the same nude one from New Look.
If your interested in some of the outfits I wore, check out the links throughout the blog. I have linked to the clothing item or to similar pieces, if they were no longer available to purchase.
Which was your favourite outfit, I think mine was the playsuit by Parisian.
