It can be so hard to find time for yourself. especially around this time of the year. Everything is non stop and all go go go! Sometimes you've got to be, a little bit selfish and make some time for yourself. Every weekend, I do just that. Make some time for myself, so I can enjoy a little bit of pampering. Which ever day ends up being hair wash day. Is the day I usually take, the extra time to pamper myself.
While I'm in the shower I usually cleanse and exfoliate my face. To cleanse my face I use, simple's kind to skin hydrating cleansing oil. You shake the bottle, then massage into your face and eyes. Its made with 100% natural grape-seed oil. Its enriched with vitamins, to remove make-up and dissolve impurities. The oil is gentle, hydrating and soothing. It even lifts away waterproof make-up, without stripping or irritating the skin. My skin is always left feeling really clean, but not stripped. This ,also doesn't leave an oily residue behind.
My exfoliator is by bee good. Its their honey and camelina, facial exfoliator. This polishes, hydrates and calms congested and dull skin. This has many natural ingredients that help to do all sorts of goodness for the skin. Milled lavender flowers, gently lift and exfoliate away dead skin cells, all without causing irritation. Wheatgerm oil, soothes and moisturises dry skin. British propolis, helps to balance problem skin, and lastly camelina oil, protects and nourishes the skin. This leaves my face feeling and looking, softer and brighter. It also, doesn't leave my face feeling dried out.
After cleansing and exfoliating, and when my shower has come to an end. I would move onto a face mask. I've got quite a few sample face masks. I'm not overly fussed about using the same one every week. I usually just listen to my skin, and see what I need to use. Whether my skin needs, brighting, purifying or hydrating. I have a mask for each problem. If my skin looks half decent, and isn't really crying out for anything in particular. Then I will always end up going for a purifying mask. I wear a lot of make-up throughout the week, so my face can always use a bit of purifying.
The mask I chose for my last pamper night was this one by Mudmasky. Its their facial detox, purifying recovery mask. This mask refines pores and brightens, while still leaving your skin hydrated and smooth. Even though it already does lots of great things for your skin. it doesn't stop there. This also helps to balance the skins pH, to leave you with the perfect complexion. I do own a few pore refining masks, but I think this is easily one of the best I own. It leaves my skin feeling so soft, hydrated and also leaves my skin less congested.
While my face mask is on, for whatever length of time it needs to be. This would be the time that I would move onto my lips. Which I wont go through, as I already went through my lip routine in blogmas day 8. If you haven't read that yet and fancy having a read, then click here.
My skin defiantly thanks me for keeping up with this weekly routine. I don't tend to break out, unless its that time of the month, and even then its kept minimal. I've also noticed that I don't get as much dry patches and my skin in general, looks so much better.
Do you have a go to face mask or do you use whatever takes your fancy?
