Blogmas Day 11 - Christmas Party

Last night was my works Christmas meal. So I thought I would share with you, what I ended up wearing and what I ordered for my meal. I've got many outfits in my wardrobe, which I could have worn to this Christmas party. But I really wanted something new, I haven't had a new going out outfit, in a quite a while. I took a trip into New Look, as I know they have some really great Christmas outfit and all for affordable prices. I ended up trying on three outfits, which you can see below.
They all fitted really nice and all looked perfect for the festive season. It was quite hard to choose one outfit out of the three, because they all looked so good. Which is usually never the case. Usually, you try loads on and everything looks rubbish.

The one I ended up buying was the black lace play-suit. Although its from New Look, its actually by the brand Parisian. I own a few pieces from this brand, so I was quite happy to add another to my wardrobe. I know they fit and wash well. They are also, a very affordable brand. This play-suit only cost £22.99, I was expecting it to be around £30 when I picked it up, so I was pleasantly surprised.

This play-suit has black lace all over, with a black underlay. The lace on the arms and the trim around the legs are sheer, so you can see your skin showing through. Which adds a little sexiness to the outfit. This has an inbuilt choker design and has a v cut design around the chest. This was very comfortable to wear, and has a slightly relaxed fit to it. It wasn't tight around the stomach, after a three course meal. Which was nice.

I didn't need to style this outfit up much, it was pretty enough on its own. But for my choice of footwear. I decided to go for some thigh high boots, these were from TkMaxx. I'm not really sure what the brand was, but they were around £20. I'd been looking for the prefect pair of over the knee boots, which you might remember me saying in a previous post. These are that perfect pair. They have elasticated ties at the back, making them fit my legs amazingly. There not too high or too low. They have the perfect heel height for  lots of walking and dancing, without your feet hurting too early on.

I thought these would be perfect to wear with my playsuit. They added a little more sexiness to the outfit, as the only bit of skin you can see, is a small section of my thighs. They were also a great choice for keeping me warm. I really didn't want to wear sandals on a cold December evening. So I knew boots were always going to be my choice of footwear. But these thigh high boots, seemed much more dressy than my everyday ankle boots.

My bag, is my standard, black going out bag. I only have one black going out bag, and I've had it for ages. This is by therapy and I'm pretty sure my sister bought me this, either for my birthday or for Christmas about 4 years ago. Its a well loved, simple black bag. Its a quilted, patent, soft box design. With gold detailing on the zip and chain. Its a small bag, but it fits a lot in.

Lastly is jewellery, and to be honest I didn't wear much at all. I decided against a necklace due to the choker detail. I didn't want to wear a bracelet, in case it snagged the lace on the playsuit. I can never seem to find rings to fit my fingers, so they irritate me after a while. That just left me with earrings to pick out, and I decided to keep these quite simple. I ended up choosing tear drop diamanté studs that had gold edging. I thought this would match the slight gold detailing on my bag.

We all had a really great time at our Christmas party. We ended up going to hall farm, which was the place me and Paul had our wedding reception. I'd not been there since our wedding, so it was a little weird to be back there for a Christmas party. But it was so much fun! And the food was great.

For my meal I picked the three T's, Terrine, Turkey and Torte. The classic game terrine, came with a fruit chutney and Melba toast. The turkey, had all your traditional Christmas trimmings with it. The torte, well, this was the best bit. It was a chocolate orange truffle torte, with a white chocolate sauce. Some said it was a bit rich and sickly. But for me that was perfect and I devoured that in minutes.

If you liked any of the pieces I've shown, I have linked to them so you can take a look at them for your selves., Any pieces that are no longer available to buy, I have linked to similar options.

Have you got your outfits sorted for you Christmas parties yet?
