Blogmas Day 12 - Birchbox

December beauty box's are the box I look forward to the most. They are usually the best boxes out of the whole year. So when Birchbox's, box landed on my doorstep the other day, I couldn't wait to open it up. My first thought before even getting the outer packing off, was that this looks a dam sight smaller then normal. When I opened it up, I saw that they had changed their box design, for this months box. Which, you can see below.

I was a little disappointed when I saw the smaller box design. I instantly thought, how are they going to fit many products in here? But how wrong was I. Good things really do come in small packages.

Birchbox, know just how many of us, like to keep and up-cycle our boxes. This is why they designed this months box, this way. So we could keep it and use it. The taller part would be perfect to store make-up brushes. The smaller part, could be ideal to store smaller things, such as tweezers and eyelash curlers. It really is a cool, handy box design and its like, their first treat for you.

Now lets get into the treats inside the box. You get five products, one of which is full sized. Two of the products are make-up, two are skin care and one is a hair care product. I was relieved to see, that there was no sign of a shower or body cream product, in this box. Although they are nice to receive and come in handy for little trips away. These products just end up sitting in a draw, waiting for that trip to come along.

Lets start with the make-up products. Firstly I have the Ciate, fierce flicks eyeliner. This is the full sized product and costs £15. I've never tried Ciate cosmetics, I've only ever tried their nail products. This is a super black felt tip liner, which are my favourite by the way. It has a precision tip, so it should be perfect for getting that winged liner on point. Once dry this liner is smudge proof, which you need for those party nights, of hot sweaty dancing.

Onto the next product, which is Laqa&Co eyelighter. I don't really know how much of a sample size I've received, as it doesn't say. But the full sized one should cost £9.50 and what I have is a decent sample of the product. This is a stick highlighter, that can also be used as an eyeshadow. Its got a creamy texture, that glides on easily. Its a creamy golden colour, and should be applied anywhere you want illuminating. This seems like it will be a great product for the festive season. I love nothing more than a golden highlight, so I think this will be prefect for me and I cant wait to use it.

Next up is the skin care items. One product I've been wanting to try for a while is the Benefit Porfessional: matte rescue. So I was very excited to see it, in this months box. I don't know if it's become some sort of tradition for birchbox, to put a benefit product in the December box. For as long as I've been getting these boxes, there has always been a benefit product in the December box. Which may also be why I look forward to the December box so much. This should cost £21.50 for the full size, which is 50ml. The sample size I received is 7.5ml, which is a decent sample for benefit. This is a mattifying gel, that helps to keep skin shine free and leave a natural matte finish. It's a water based gel that helps to absorb excess oil and leave skin smooth and ready for make-up. I personally love the porefessional range from benefit. I am prone to oily break outs, so I'm looking forward to trying this product.

The next skin care product is by Starskin. I've tried their sheet mask previously through birchbox. These are eye masks, they're called eye catcher. These cost £8.50 for a pack of two. This bio-cellulose eye mask is infused with vitamin-rich coconut juice and brightening licorice root extract. Which all help to de-puff, brighten and rejuvenate your eyes. Making them look more wide awake. I enjoyed their face mask, so I know I'm going to enjoy these. I think I'm going to save these for a treat on Christmas eve. But these would also be perfect to use before any party or event.

Lastly is the hair care product, by Percy and Reed. Its their perfectly perfecting, wonder balm. This costs £18 for a full sized product which is, 75ml. The sample I received is 30ml, so its a decent sample, especially for hair. This is a true multi-tasking product. It claims to add moisture, boost shine, add definition, soften strands, fight against humidity, increases manageability and lastly speed up styling. It promises to do a lot of things, but I guess that's why its called a wonder balm. I've only tried a hairspray by this brand, and I really liked that. So I'm hopeful that I'll enjoy this product too.

There is not one product, I'm not looking forward to using and trying out, in this month's box. All the samples are great sizes this month, and don't think there is one dud product.

Out of this months box what would you most like to try?
