I'm very religious with my morning skincare routine, which you will see in an upcoming blog post. But I couldn't keep to my evening skincare routine, as regularly as I'd have liked to. In the evenings I just want to take my makeup off as quick as possible, and crawl into bed. To make sure I take my make-up off before going to bed, I made my routine smaller and more bedtime friendly.
First of all I need to tackle the eye make-up and countless coats of mascara. There's one product I've found that removes eye make-up, even waterproof mascara, without having to overly rub your eyes. This product manages to remove even the stubbornest of mascara's, but
it still protects and cares for the lashes and doesn't leave any oily
residue behind. The product I use is, Nivea's double effect eye make-up remover. If you like Lancome's Bi-facil make-up remover , then I think you will like this. Personally I think they are very similar, except Nivea costs £3.89 for 125ml and Lancome costs £21.50, for the same amount of product. Nivea's eye make-up remover is suitable for all skin types, even for those with sensitive skin.
To remove the rest of my make-up, I use Simples kind to skin, cleansing wipes. I know its not ideal to use face wipes every day, but I don't use them everyday. I just use them most days. I would rather use a face wipe to remove my make-up, than end up being too lazy to take it off at all! Face wipes are so convenient, easy to use and you can find some that are, kind to your skin. These simple face wipes are made of softer than silk fibres, so there not harsh on your skin and there designed for the most sensitive skin. These wipes lift away dirt, grease, impurities and remove make-up, even waterproof make-up. Locked into these face wipes is purified water and skin-loving ingredients, such as vitamin B5 and vitamin E. Which all help to leave the skin feeling fresh, clean and hydrated. To ensure I have removed all make-up and cleansed properly. I use one side of the face wipe to remove, and then I use the other side to catch anything I may have missed. It's kind of like a double cleanse using the same product. This way I make sure that my face is left make-up free, feeling clean and fresh. All after using one product.
Like I said, I don't use face wipes every night. The nights I don't use them, is when I need to wash my hair. When I'm in the shower and letting my conditioner work into my hair. I use my Simple cleansing oil and Bee Good exfoliator, to cleanse and exfoliate my skin. These products stay in my shower as I find it easier to use them there. I wont go into detail on why I like and use these products. As you will already have read about these, on my pamper routine post.
After my skin is clean of make-up, I like to use a couple of products to hydrate and prep my skin for the next day. Firstly I use First Aid Beauty's, 5in1 eye cream. This multi-action eye cream helps prevent and reduce the fine lines and wrinkles, improve skin radiance, corrects uneven skin tone, nourishes the skin and combats free radicals. It's even safe for sensitive skin and has no parabens,or harsh chemicals. I like to use an anti-ageing eye products in the evening, as I like to use something more nourishing while I'm sleeping. Prevention is the cure, and the longer I can try and keep wrinkles at bay, the better.
My night cream is by Polaar. This night cream is specially created to help your skin regenerate while you sleep. Its enriched with a unique ingredient, that helps speed up your skin-cells natural regeneration process. Which plump and smooth the skin, leaving you with beautifully radiant skin, when you wake up. Just like my eye cream I like to use a thicker and more nourishes cream for the evening. I especially like the idea, that this cream has been created to help skin regenerate while you sleep. Sounds like the perfect night cream, and I have been enjoying using this. I've definitely noticed less dry patches on my face this winter, while using this cream.
The last two products I use, are applied really quickly. But they ensure that my brows and lips are prepped and nourished, for the next day. Benefits Browvo, is something I like to use on an evening, to keep my brows looking in tip top condition. I will admit, I don't use this every night. But I do use this, the majority of the time. I use it as an overnight conditioner for my brows, rather than a primer to extend the wear of brow products. This conditioning formula, contains proteins known to help brows look thicker, healthier and fuller. This really does help to thicken up brows. I started using this, when I noticed lots of brow hairs were falling out, when I was filling them in with a brow pencil. This helped to thicken them back up and stopped them falling out so much.
Lastly is a product, that I will never not apply. I always make sure I find time to apply a lip balm to my lips, to keep them hydrated and nourished. I use a very simple product on my lips, which is Vaseline. But this basic product does wonders. It helps to protect and lock in moisture, to restore dry, chapped skin. Its also hypo-allergenic and doesn't clog pores. Its the perfect overnight balm for your lips.
What's the one product you would always, have to apply before going to bed?
