Fashion is a love of mine, I enjoy picking out an outfit that's nice to wear. The main reason for that, may not just be for my love of fashion. But the fact, that most of the week I'm stuck in my uniform for work. I had today off from work and I had quite a few errands to run. I needed to pop into town, to pick up a few last minute gifts. See some family to drop Christmas and birthday presents off, and lastly I had an appointment to get my hair trimmed. There's nothing quite like, having freshly tided up hair for Christmas.
Like for most busy days, I wanted my outfit to be stylish, but still comfy. The only thing I knew I wanted to wear today was a skirt. I do tend to live in skirts, tights and boots over the winter. I wear more skirts in the winter than I do in the summer.
The skirt I chose to wear, was a simple denim one from New Look. This is an A-line style, with bronze coloured buttons down the front. Its a perfect skirt for the winter, because its denim, so its a bit thicker.
I chose a light weight knit for my top. I thought it would keep me warm, but not too hot, with all the rushing around I had to do. This is a bardot style top, that has 3/4 sleeves. It has beautiful lace detail, that comes up from the bardot section. This turns this top into a more cold shoulder style. I picked this up a few months back from River Island in the sale, but this is the first chance I've had to wear it. This is quite a tight fitting top, so I tucked it into my skirt.
Usually I would pick my thick, thermal tights to wear around this time of the year. But I picked out these normal black ones, from New Look. There a bit more pricey than I would normally pay for tights, but they are smooth feeling and they don't seem to snag easily.
For shoes, I chose ankle boots. You really cant go wrong with some ankle boots in the winter. These ones are from H&M. They're black, with a block heel. The heel is very rubbery, which actually makes these very springy when you walk. The heel height is perfect on these, I can rush around in them all day, without my feet hurting. They're the perfect ankle boots for a busy day. They also go with anything, as their just plain black.
The accessories I chose to go with this outfit, were some sliver diamanté studs and a silver choker chain, with a dangling pearl. I didn't want anything over the top, as I didn't want to take the prettiness away from the lace detailing. I thought a choker would be ideal as it would attract attention to this area, without damaging the lace. Both of these bits of jewellery are from sets, the earrings are from New Look and the choker is from Asos.
Before walking out the door I also picked out my over sized blanket scarf from Asos and my leather jacket, from Oasis to keep me cosy, all day long.
If you liked any of the pieces in today's post, all the items have been linked to. Unless it is no longer available, in which case a similar item has been linked to instead
What kind of outfit would you wear to run errands?
