Afternoon Tea and Hats

There's nothing I love more than spending time with the other half. We both had the day off together, which is quite rare. We had quite a chilled out morning as we couldn't go anywhere until around lunch time, we had to wait in for the hairdresser to come and sort Paul's crazy hair out. By the time the hair dresser had gone it was nearly 2pm, the perfect time for afternoon tea.

We went to one of our favourite restaurants in Cleethorpes, Petit Delight. We come here quite a bit, for breakfast, lunch and even dinner sometimes. The food is always great and the service is some of the best where we live. The restaurant is French themed if you didn't guess from the name, their afternoon tea is also French themed.  The savoury part of their afternoon tea never changes, but the desserts do change depending on what is available in the dessert cabinet that day. They have two types of afternoon tea to choose from, Paris and Cote d'Azur. Paris is more of a sandwich selection, were as Cote d'Azur is continental meats. We chose Paris, like we usually do as its one of my favourites.

The afternoon tea comes on three tiers, the savoury is spread across two tiers, whilst the desserts stand proud on the top tier.

On the first tier you get a choice of finger sandwich, we went with tuna. You also get a croque-monsieur.

On the second tier you get a slice of quiche, which is usually the quiche of the day. You also get a croissant filled with either smoked salmon and scrambled egg or goats cheese and sun-dried tomatoes.

Finally on the third tier you get the delicious desserts. Like I said these do change quite often. On ours this time we got a slice of lemon cake with orange frosting, a coffee meringue finger, creme brulee and a brownie.

This cost £15 per person and includes tea or coffee.

It was quite a cold windy day out and it kept trying to snow that day. I decided a hat was needed, to keep the snow off my hair and stop my hair blowing around. The last time I wore this hat was when we went to Paris for my birthday, last March. Nearly a whole year, so it was long over due an outing.

Here's what I wore for our lunch date....

Hat : Primark, similar one from the brand Boardwalk on Asos.
Jumper : Asos, similar.
Skirt : New Look, similar.
Tights : New Look
Boots : Ravel, similar from Faith on Asos.
Necklace : River Island

What do you like to do on your days off?
