Valentines Outfit Inspiration

Valentines isn't just for couples or soon to be couples, it's also a day/evening that you can spend with a best friend. So whether you've got a date with your partner, crush or a friend, your going to need an outfit to wear. I've put together two outfits that will hopefully give you ideas what to wear yourself. Both outfits are perfect for going out. However one is more casual, inspired by those cinema and pub dates. The second outfit is more dressed up, inspired by an intimate meal out or a night on the town with friends. Whatever kind of date your going on, hopefully these will inspire your own outfit choices.

The Casual Date

Going on a date to the cinema or the pub requires an outfit that's a little more causal, but still looks dressed up. No matter where you go on your casual date, you still want to look a little special but not over the top.

Top: Navy London, similar £55.
This is a white lace peplum top, which I think dresses up the very casual leggings. The lace adds a touch of girliness to the outfit, making this a softer romantic look.

Leggings : River Island, similar £22.
I picked leggings for this outfit purely for comfort. They wont be tight on the stomach after too much food and drink and they wont irritate you after sitting down for so long. These aren't your ordinary black leggings though, there a little thicker making them more like skinny trousers than leggings. These ones have ribbed detail on the knee, giving them a biker appearance.

Heels are a must for me on date nights. I thought these shoes went perfectly with the black and white theme I seemed to have choose for the outfit.

The Romantic Date

This outfit is perfect for being took out somewhere special for a meal or just letting your hair down with your girlies. This outfit is easy to wear, but will make sure you stand out.

Dress: River Island, similar £35.
Of course it had to be a red dress, nothing else screams valentines than the colour red. I chose a body hugging red dress from River Island that you might have seen in my recent sale haul. The red lace and bardot style gives this dress sex appeal.

Shoes: Miss Selfridge, similar from Aldo £55.
I've had these shoes for what seems like forever, but they were the perfect option to go with this dress. Black and red are classic colours that compliment each other perfectly. The bows on the shoes just add a bit more glam to this outfit.
Necklace: Asos, £5.
Keeping up with the lace theme, I chose a black lace choker. A choker seemed perfect for this outfit as I didn't want any necklace dangling down and pulling at the lace on the dress.

If your outfit is sorted, but your not sure what make-up to go with. Then check back on Monday to see what make-up I chose to wear with both of these outfits.

Let me know what your plans are for valentines and which was your favourite outfit?
