I needed to buy a few essentials that I was running out of, like my shampoo. That meant I got to place an order with one of my favourite online beauty shops, Feel Unique. Usually when I repurchase the essentials I always end up adding other things into my bag, there's just so many great things on the website that its hard not to. Does anyone else have this problem too?
This time however, I managed to only buy the things that I intended to buy. I only managed to do this because I was buying a few expensive things. Meaning I qualified for the Feel Unique beauty bag, which if your wondering means I spent just over £100! I'll go through both what I bought and what I got in the beauty bag too.
Like I said, I was In need of some more shampoo. My favourite shampoo brand is Paul Mitchell, its been recommended to me by my hair dresser. Once I stated using the shampoo and conditioners I found my hair looked so much better and styled far better too. The shampoo that I always buy is the original Awapuhi one.
From the same brand I also purchased the tea tree hair and scalp treatment. I actually bought this for my husband because he's been complaining of a dry scalp lately. The harsh winter and heating has took a bit of a toll on his scalp. So I decided to treat him to this hair and scalp treatment, which not only soothes and moisturises the scalp but also strengthens the hair too. I thought this would be good for me to use on the odd occasion too, as I also suffer from a dry scalp at times.
I also repurchased my all time favourite hair mask, which is by Bed Head. Its the urban anti+dotes recovery mask. This masks helps to repair signs of damage from over styling, It helps smooth frizz and injects moisture back into the hair. My hair always feels silky and soft after using this mask.
The last thing that I purchased for me was some invisibobble's. I already have the standard clear ones which featured in my February favourites. They are great bobbles that don't leave lines in your hair, they don't snag or pull hair. These keep your hair in place without being too tight, which means I don't end up getting a hair headache at the end of a long day. I was struggling when I came to do my workouts though. My hair kept coming out of the ponytail when I was doing my HIIT sessions. I have thick and long hair, so my hair is very heavy and was causing too much strain on the normal invisibobble's. I saw on Feel Unique that they had the extra strong invisibobble's, that are more suitable for workouts. I thought these would be a great solution for when I'm working out. I picked the extra strong ones up in a fun bright pink colour. I wanted them to be a different colour from the normal ones, so I can tell which are which quicker.
You may look at these items and think, well that's not over a £100 worth of stuff. Well I did just buy one more thing. But it wasn't for me and I didn't take a picture of it. It was a gift for my Mum, for mothers day. I picked her up the Estee Lauder advanced night repair serum. I knew she was in need of some new skin care and that she'd had a sample of this in the past and loved it. But I knew she would never spend this amount on herself. So I decided to treat her to it instead, she more than deserves it.
When I realised that I'd spent a £100 and qualified for the free beauty bag, I was a little anxious about dropping that amount of money all in one go and thought about holding off buying a few bits until later. But then I realised I'd still be spending the same amount of money either way. But by buying it all now, I'm benefiting by getting a free beauty bag that's contents are worth over a £100. Anyway here's what was in the free beauty bag...
First of all the bag its self is beautiful. Its a navy faux leather bag that has a rose gold zip. Its large enough to fit palettes and make-up brushes in. I can see this is going to become my go to make-up bag, as it fits so much in.
Inside the bag there was fifteen items, I couldn't believe how much stuff was in this bag. Most of these are great travel sizes, with a few bonus full sized products. These will be perfect sizes for my up coming holiday.
1 - Trilogy - Cream Cleanser - 30ml
Not only is this supposed to remove make-up and clean your face. But it also nourishes, softens and makes your skin glow.
I've never used Trilogy before so I'm looking forward to trying this out.
2 - Ren - Evercalm Ultra Comforting Rescue Mask - 10ml
A mask for sensitive skin. Formulated to immediately sooth sensitivity and help to calm skin in the long term. It also provides a healthy hit of hydration.
I've used Ren before and have really liked there products, but I've not tried this before. My skin often needs a hit of hydration, so I'm sure I will love this. I can see this being a great mask to use after a long plane journey too.
3 - Vichy - Idealia Skin Sleep Night Cream - 15ml
A clever night cream that mimics the skins night time activity, giving the results of a full eight hours sleep.
A cream that makes you look like you've had eight hours sleep, yes please! I've heard great things about the brand Vichy, so I'm very hopeful of this cream.
4 - Gatineau - Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover - 50ml
This is gentle but a very effective make-up remover. It also helps to strengthen the lashes.
This is the perfect travel size. I'm also very happy that this not only removes make-up but also strengthens lashes. I'm all about looking after your lashes. I've not tried this before either, I'm hopeful that this could be my new favourite eye make-up remover.
5 - Caudalie - Premier Cru Eye Cream - 5ml
This luxurious eye cream helps diminish dark circles and puffiness.
I've not tried this but everything I've tried by Caudalie, I've liked so far. I really should look at the brand a bit more and see what else they have to offer and try.
6 - DHC - Velvet Skin Coat - 5g
This primer leaves skin silky smooth and makes the perfect base for a flawless finish.
I've never heard of this brand before and I'm very loyal to my favourite Benefit primer. So this will have to be really amazing for it to wow me.
7 - Sleek - Dip It Black Eyeliner - 4ml (full size)
The tapered tip makes the pen super easy to control, making it easy to do a subtle line or a full on cat eye. Its also smudge proof.
I said in a previous post about how I wanted to try more make-up from the brand Sleek, so I'm quite excited to give this a try. I will definitely put this liner through its paces to see if it is actually is smudge proof.
8 - Burt's Bees - Lipstick - Blush Basin - 3.4g (full size)
This lipstick gives serious colour whilst also nourishing the lips. This hydrating lipstick is all natural ingredients too!
This is a gorgeous pink nude shade, that would suit most complexions. A moisturising lipstick that's all natural what's not to love?
9 - Fleur de Force - Lip gloss - Starlight - 9.5ml (full size)
A mix between a liquid lipstick and a lip gloss, so you get the colour pay off of a liquid lipstick but the smoothness of a gloss.
Fleur is one of my favourite beauty bloggers and I'm quite sad to say that I haven't tried any of her beauty line yet. So I'm very excited to finally have a lip gloss to try. I'm loving this bright fuchsia shade, it will be perfect for the summer and my holiday!
10 - Laura Geller - French Vanilla Highlighter - 1.8g
A baked highlighter that comes in two different shades. You can decide whether you're in a sheer cream or a peachy nude mood, or maybe even both.
The actual full size highlighter is duo between the two shades, French vanilla (cream) and Portofino (peach). The product I have, is the creamy French vanilla part. Its a shame that they couldn't do a mini split version of the highlighter, but I'm still very excited to try out a Laura Geller product. This looks like a product I'm going to love.
11 - TIGI - Bed Head - Mini Masterpiece Aerosol - 79ml
A hairspray that delivers serious hold. The perfect hair spray to make your hairstyles last all day and night!
Mini hair sprays are always a great product to have, there perfect for trips away as most hair spray can be quite bulky. I love this brand, but haven't tried this hair spray before.
This nifty little spray does it all from taming frizz to adding shine, it even helps to make unruly locks more manageable. This also contains solar filter so your hair is protected from UVA rays.
A product that does everything in one sounds great to me, I'm looking forward to trying this out and seeing if my hair benefits from the ten things it promises it does.
13 - Moschino - Fresh - 5ml
The chicest cleaning bottle ever with a fruity and clean scent. It has notes of mandarin, raspberry and peony.
The bottle remind me of window cleaner, not something I would class as being chic, but whatever. I was excited to smell this as I love fruity and fresh scents. But this smells more floral than fruity. Its a nice scent but I'm not sure if its for me.
14 - St Moriz - Advanced Pro Formula Primer - 50ml
To achieve a perfect, even and natural looking tan, this primer is what you need. It buffs away dead skin cells and leaves the skin surface even and ready for tanning.
I'm not a big fake tan person, so I'm unsure If I will ever use this. But I suppose it will come in handy for an occasion were I feel the need to self tan. Maybe I'll use it when I'm bridesmaid at my Friends wedding, I'll probably feel like I need a bit of a tan for that.
This is a true multi-tasker! You can use this to shape brows, hydrate dry skin, sooth chapped lips, sunburn, calm cuts and absolutely anything else that takes your fancy.
This sounds like the perfect handbag staple item and this is where this will live from now on, in my handbag.
I think it was truly worth spending all that money in one go to receive this beauty gift. I've hardly tried any of these products and there all from great brands. I'm looking forward to trying these products out and seeing if they become essentials in my beauty regime.
