Yesterday, I showed you what I would be wearing for Christmas day. So today, I thought I would tell you what were going to be getting up to, on the big day. Our Christmas day's are always busy, we always have so many people to visit on the day.
Our Christmas day starts around 7am. We might be classed as adults, but we still get excited to open our presents. The day also has to start quite early, so were not rushing everywhere. As soon as were up, we go down stairs, put on some Christmas music and open our presents. We take it in turns opening one each, until they've all been opened. Once we've admired our presents, we send Merry Christmas and thank you messages, to our family and friends.
Then its onto breakfast. We always have a yummy breakfast on Christmas morning, it needs to last us until our dinner. Which is usually between 2pm and 3pm. Every year Paul has the same thing for breakfast. He has to have French toast or as some of you may know it, eggy bread. Me on the other hand, I will have either crumpets, pan Au chocolat or pancakes. I don't have a specific thing I want every year. Just as long as its tasty and not something I would have everyday.
After we've consumed breakfast, its onto taking the presents upstairs and getting our Christmas outfits on. It does seem to take me longer to get ready on Christmas morning than usual. Most likely due to me playing around with either new make-up, or a hair tool.
Around 10am is the time were usually ready to head out the door, to visit people. We used to visit Paul's Dad, my Dad and Paul's sister, all on Christmas morning. Before finally reaching our last destination, which is my Mums, were we eat our Christmas dinner. It's a lot of people to fit in, all in one day. Now we visit the Dad's a few days before to make it easier. It also means we get to spend more time with Paul's Sister and our Nieces. Our Nieces usually save the presents from us until we get round, so we can see them opening them. We stay there for a bit and enjoy some drinks, treats and play with the kids toys.
Usually we would then nip home, pick up presents and the cheesecake. (I always do dessert for Christmas day) Then make our way down to my mums. I said earlier, we would usually go to hers for Christmas dinner. But this year were off to our friends. So after we finish at Paul's Sister's, we will make our way down to my Mum's. To see her and my Sister, and give them their presents.
We will most likely leave just before 2pm, to get to our friends, as our dinner is being served between half 2 and 3pm. The important cheesecake needs to be picked up from home and their presents too. Other than one other Christmas, were it was mine and Paul's first Christmas as Mr and Mrs. We have always gone to my Mum's, so it will be a bit weird this year not going there. But I know were going to have so much fun at our friends. And it's really nice of our friends to offer to cook Christmas dinner.
Do you have lots of people to visit on Christmas day? Or do you have people that come to you?
