Bad Gal Bang

I'm sure we all know about the new mascara release from Benefit! It's had massive hype around it before we even knew what it was, the launch for the mascara was crazy but it was also so effective. I certainly rushed out and bought one straight away. But is it worth the hype?

I'm going to share with you my honest thoughts about this mascara, so if your looking for an honest review of Bad Gal Bang, then you've come to the right place. Since buying this mascara I've heard that this has had quite a love it hate it review and I can 100% see why.

After seeing so many vloggers and bloggers try out this mascara and seeing how amazing their lashes looked. I went out and bought it, I wanted those super long, volumised and defined lashes that this mascara seemed to be giving them.

My first time using this I had such mixed feelings, I was ecstatic with the length this was giving my lashes. But I was so annoyed with how it was clumping my lashes into triangles. I find that this mascara is just far too wet and that too much product comes out on the wand. I don't feel that the wand has enough friction on the tube to pull some of the excess mascara off. Usually if too much mascara has applied to one eye I can re-go over it with the wand and work it between both eyes. But this only made things worse and my lashes looked even more clumpy, felt heavy and started to droop with the amount of product on my lashes. I think I would've been able to apply this to four peoples lashes before even needing to get more product onto the wand. (I wouldn't share my mascara of course as that's completely unhygienic, but you get what I mean) I ended up using a clean disposable mascara wand to pull some of the excess off and to separate the clumps. Once I'd done this my lashes looked amazing. You can see the difference in my lashes from the photos below. The top photo is my normal mascara, the middle photo is my lashes with no mascara and the bottom one is Bad Gal Bang. You can quite clearly see from the photos that this has dramatically lengthened my lashes, even compared to my normal mascara. It has not only lengthened, but also given them volume and they just have that wow factor to them.

There are mascaras out there that are dreadful to use for the first couple of weeks, as their too wet and there are some that are amazing to use first off, but dry out after a couple of months. I feel like this mascara is going to be one of those overly wet annoying mascaras to use at first, but give it a couple of weeks and it will be the right consistency to use. That's what I hope anyway. Because I really like how much length this adds to your lashes. I think I'm going to do one of the biggest mascara no no's and over pump the mascara wand, to get some air into the formula and dry it out a bit. I've done this quite a few times with other overly wet mascara's and its worked for them. So hopefully it will work for this mascara too.

The formula is great though, its doesn't flake and doesn't irritate the eyes. Once I'd sorted the over clumping problem out, my lashes stayed in the curved position I'd placed them in the morning. Basically this stuff sets down well and isn't going to budge from your lashes. I mean it! Your going to need some strong stuff to remove this product from your lashes. If you've tried Benefit's they're real mascara before, you'll know how hard that was to remove from your lashes. Its a dam good mascara, but its a tough one to get off your lashes, so tough in fact that they brought out their own eye make-up remover for it. Well Bad Gal Bang is exactly like that. My usual eye make-up remover was getting the product off, but it took two cotton pads (I usually use one for both eyes) and a lot of rubbing before I managed to get this stuff off my lashes. And FYI I always use a solid cleansing oil to break my make-up down first too. Luckily I had a miniature of the benefit they're real eye make-up remover in my travel miniatures. This instantly dissolved the mascara and made it 10x easier to remove. I didn't have to over rub my eyes and I only needed to use the one cotton pad for both eyes too.

As you can see I have mixed feelings on this mascara and that is why I 100% got the love it/hate it reaction to this product. I would say if you like the clumpy look to your lashes, then give this product a try, as it really does give amazing length and that wow factor to your lashes. Just make sure you have a good eye make-up remover on hand. But if your like me and like the separated defined look to your lashes, a more natural look. Then this mascara probably isn't for and your money is probably best saved on another mascara. If your still unsure if this mascara is for you or not, why not buy the travel size version first and give that a try before you commit to the full size.

To be honest I would recommend the original Bad Gal mascara over this one and the roller lash. I really love using those two together. Bad gal separates every lash and gives amazing volume and the roller lash lengthens and gives that curve to your lashes. It doesn't give you the length that Bad Gal Bang does, but you have to figure out what you want for your lashes and what you actually like them to look like?

I like length and definition to my lashes. I'd love to know how you like your lashes to look, let me know below.

Have you tried this mascara out? Did you Love it or Hate it?
